A SECURITY van driver who stole nearly £1million in cash was jailed yesterday.
Joel March, 36, took 43 boxes containing £889,440.
More than £860,000 is still unaccounted for more than three months after it went missing, the court heard.
Jailing March for four years and eight months, Judge Usha Karu told him: “There’s no obvious explanation for this offence other than greed.
“You have not co-operated at all as to the whereabouts of the money. This was a very high breach of trust.”
Police were called after a resident noticed the G4S van parked outside March’s home in Clapham, South London, for more than six hours on April 23 this year.
He was arrested a day later when police followed him into a house where some of the cash was found.

Prosecutor Alex Agbamu told Inner London crown court: “He was entrusted to deliver almost a million pounds in cash in central London.
“But instead of going to those deliveries, he stole the cash and refused to disclose to the police where it was.”
March had admitted theft by an employee and concealing criminal property at an earlier hearing.
