A sixth dog is now known to have vanished while in the care of pet-sitter Louise Lawford.
Freddie, another pug, has now joined Pablo, Maggie, Ralph, Jack and Charlie on the list of those who went missing on June 23rd.
Freddie, however, is understood to belong to Louise and was being looked after by her 10-year-old son, thus deepening the mystery about what has become of the dogs now known as the 'Tamworth 6'.
News of the extra missing dog was confirmed by Louise's in-laws, Peter and Jayne Oddy, who said they were at a loss to explain what could have happened.
Louise Lawford (pictured left) had been walking the dogs in Staffordshire when she claims they were spooked by gunshots - but Becky Parsons (pictured right) has claimed that dog walker Ms Lawford 'let their dogs die'
Officers in the West Midlands are investigating the discovery of a dead dog a four-hour drive away from Tamworth on the East Sussex coast in Hastings
'Freddie is the sixth dog involved,' said Mr Oddy. 'He belonged to one of the grandchildren. It's a terrible situation and our hearts go out to the other dog owners.'
Louise, they said, had split with their son Richard but he had allowed her to keep running her pet-sitting business from double-garages to the side of the family home.
It was at this semi-detached in Sutton Coldfield that dog owners met Louise to hand over their pooches and there that they returned after she told them the devastating news that their beloveds had been lost, apparently while walking in Hopwas Wood near Tamworth.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: 'A couple of days after the dogs had gone missing, we had people knocking on our doors who had lost their dogs and wanted to know where they could find Louise.
'Richard was away when it all happened and came back to all these people demanding to know where Louise was and he didn't know. She has not been seen here since it all happened.
'Richard thinks she has lost the plot and had some sort of breakdown because her behaviour is so out of character.
'He told me that she would do nothing to harm dogs but doesn't know what has happened to them. I don't think anyone believes she lost them in woods but what happened, did she sell them, she just has to come clean.'
Maggie, a Jack Russell and pug-cross, (pictured above) is one of Becky Parson's two dogs that had been left in the care of Ms Lawford
French Bulldog Brindle, Jack (left) and pug Pablo had gone missing from Tamworth when on a group walk
Her in-laws, who live nearby, dismissed the idea that Louise could have sold the animals but admitted that their son, who is going through a divorce with mother-of-four Louise, had no idea where she is.
'Richard does not know where Louise is. He can't find out where she is at the moment and that is worrying for us all,' added Mr Oddy.
The couple have four children and one of their two older children is understood to be in the army.
Richard was unavailable for comment last night. His 15-year-old daughter said that the police had told her father to make no comment.
The police investigation continues.
Ralph and Charlie pictured above also went missing and their owner April Lock said her life will 'never be the same'
Earlier today bereft owner Beck Parsons said she was told the dogs were dead by someone who confessed on behalf of Ms Lawford.
She added: 'We can't say any more because we don't want to jeopardise any police investigation.'
'We know Pablo and Maggie are dead. I cannot tell you how I know but it was said in a statement which could not have been false.
'There were no photographs but I am confident they were telling the truth and the dogs died.
'If it turns out they were buried in Hastings then yes it would be closure.
'I just want to find out what happened to them and what happened after they died.'
Last night the owners of the missing dogs accused Ms Lawford of letting them all die while in her care as police revealed they are probing the discovery of a body 200 miles away from where they all vanished.
Ms Parsons has accused Ms Lawford of giving her 'false hope' after learning her missing dogs Pablo and Maggie had perished.
Louise Lawford claimed the dogs run away during a walk in Hopwas Woods near Tamworth on Sunday after they were scared by a gunshot
Hundreds of people spent several days searching the woods for the dogs.
West Midlands Police also launched an investigation and said today they are still treating the disappearance of the dogs as theft.
Ms Lawford is understood to have spoken to police but is yet to give her side of the story publicly and has not been arrested.
But Ms Parsons and fellow owners April Lock and Liz Egan have revealed they were told on Monday that their beloved dogs are all dead but have been urged by police not to reveal any more details due to an ongoing investigation.
And in a new twist officers are investigating the discovery of a dead dog a four-hour drive away from Tamworth on the East Sussex coast in Hastings.
A police spokesman said: 'This is currently being treated as suspected theft. A woman was voluntarily interviewed under caution on July 12 as part of the investigation'.
He added: 'Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a number of dogs that allegedly went missing under the care of a Birmingham-based sitter are continuing.
'To date, none of the pets have been found and we are still investigating this case as an alleged theft.
'Contrary to reports, owners have not been contacted by police to say that the dogs have died.
'Investigating officers are aware of the discovery of the remains of a dog in Hastings and are making enquiries to ascertain whether its linked to the matter in the West Midlands'.
Despite widespread publicity, appeals through organisation Dog Lost and a £10,000 reward for their return, the dogs have not been seen since.
Neighbours say MsLawford was last seen at her house two weeks ago.
Ms Parsons, 39, told friends on Facebook that her 'heart had been shattered' by the news.
Suspicions grew over the welfare over the animals when Ms Lawford failed to take calls from three dog owners.
In a Facebook post Becky, who lives in Birmingham, said: 'You let us have false hope. You let hundreds of people join us in a desperate search.
'My heart is shattered. My beautiful irreplaceable babies are never coming home. It's taken five weeks to get the truth. Five weeks of torture and agony.'
April Lock, from Streetly, who owned Ralph and Charlie, said last night: 'At the moment all we know is they did die in the dog sitter's care.
'We still want our dogs back. We found out on Monday evening that they are no longer alive.
'I am broken. It is just awful. We always had that hope that they would come home. We still had that tiny bit of hope that they were out there.'
She added: 'I dropped the dogs off at the sitter's in Sutton Coldfield and I understand they were taken to a house in Erdington. We won't stop until something's done, just for the justice of the dogs.'
April revealed she had been advised by police not to reveal any details of the case due to an ongoing investigation.
She said: 'Our babies didn't deserve this.'
She wrote of Ralph: 'Without you, life just is not ever going to be the same.
'I just have no words . . . I can't even come close to explaining the pain.'
She added that Ms Lawford had allowed people to 'desperately' search for the pets.
'You let the army be deployed to the area you say they were lost. You let our dogs die', she said.
'Our lives will never be the same we will never forgive you, we will get justice.
'She didn't even tell her family and has put them through hell running away and hiding . . . going on holiday while everyone suffered and searched.'
Officers are appealing for information, while Ms Lawford is reportedly refusing to answer questions. She was unavailable for comment.
Last month her neighbours say they saw a man bundling dog leads and ball throwers into a van before leaving her rented terraced property in Erdington shortly before police arrived on Wednesday.
One resident said: 'There were police around the house. Before they came a man who comes and goes from there was taking dog stuff like leads and ball throwers out of her car into a VW van.
'They were packing it up quite quickly as if they were moving away. The barking has also stopped in the back garden.
'Sometimes dogs have got away from the house. Recently I had to run out into the street to catch a German Shepherd from running onto the road.
'I think Louise lives there with another woman but they only moved in recently.'
James Egan left his beloved 18-month-old French bulldog Jack with Lousie for the very first time, while he took a weekend break with wife Liz.
But just hours before they were due to collect their pet on Sunday, James was told his pet had disappeared.
James, from Kingstanding, said after they vanished: 'It was the first time we had left Jack.
'The dog sitter had been recommended to us by other dog owners who I had met while walking Jack.
'I didn't like the thought of leaving him at a kennel, so we went with the dog sitter who would look after him in their own home.
'We thought he would be safer and the dog walker seemed very professional.
'We were due to fetch Jack on Monday but on Sunday I had a phone call from the dog sitter to say he had been lost.
'The walker claimed they had been walking their own dog, along with ours, in Hopwas Woods.
'They said there had been a loud bang which spooked the dogs and they had run off.
'I was sympathetic at first as the walker was really upset but then something didn't sit right.'
