A BRITISH Airways passenger was served a “soggy and disgusting” breakfast on a £1,200 flight – before being offered a stone-cold croissant to compensate.
Sandra Arthur was handed the depressing meal on a flight from Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow on Saturday.
Sandra, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, hit out at the at the airline in an outraged Facebook post.
She was expecting two slices of toasted bruschetta with fresh green herbs – but was faced with a soggy-looking loaf with instant egg.
She fumed: “Breakfast was absolutely disgusting. A soggy bruschetta with egg and cheese.
“Bruschetta was difficult to get out of the box and the egg and cheese stuck to the box.
EVEN FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS ‘EMBARRASSED’
“And as the flight attendant said he can not believe they are expected to prepare toasted bread in a steam oven.
“So many complained. We could not eat this and when we complained we were offered a cold croissant.
“The flight attendant was extremely embarrassed but professional.”
One flier replied: “They gave this to us on our July 8 Seattle to London Heathrow. We didn’t have the issues you had, but it was still disgusting.”
A BA spokesman said: “We are sorry that our standards fell below our customer’s expectations on this occasion.”

It comes just weeks after a BA passenger was left horrified after being served what looked like “dog food” on his £700 flight.
Erik, from Houston, complained on social media: “I would love to say that it looked awful and tasted good.
“But $900 doesn’t buy what it used to. Now you’re crammed in with the other sheeple with no room and fed dog food.”
