"Many Photos" - Escape room employee dressed up as chainsaw-wielding bogeyman knocked out by terrified competitors

An chainsaw-wielding escape room employee had a taste of his own medicine, after terrified competitors knocked him out while running away. 

Footage of the terrifying experience was taken during their 'first and only' attempt at an escape game in China's north-western province of Shaanxi in August last year.    

The video shows the five friends running away from cosplaying staff members, one of whom is wearing a scary mask and chasing them with a chainsaw.

At one point during their escape, a woman swings open a door and accidentally knocks out one of the other employees

A young woman falls behind and trips during the group's escape, and she ends up being pulled along the ground by a loyal male friend.

The video shows lights flashing and scary sound effects playing in the escape room as the group try to navigate their way out of the popular puzzle game.

One of the friends, Mr Yu, revealed they never went back again after completing the game.

He said: 'We were too scared to ever try an escape room again.

'I don't know why but the cosplaying staff member kept chasing us around with a chainsaw.

'It was my first time and I was terrified.

'The passages were very narrow, and our friend is very small, so she was always lagging behind.

'We pulled her along but she would always fall over whenever we bumped into her.'

But Mr Yu's friends refused to let go, dragging their friend around the escape room and away from the scary chainsaw wielding bogeyman.   

'Her trousers were ripped open from being scraped along the ground. We went round and round about five times,' he continued.

'She was initially very brave and led our group into the escape room, but when everything started she ended up hiding at the very back.

'She was grateful our friend didn't let go.'
