THE new lover of notorious con Charles Bronson’s ex-wife has described the harrowing moment he found her lifeless body after a night out.
Paula Williamson’s body was discovered by 53-year-old truck driver Peter Jones on her bed after he fell asleep on the downstairs sofa.
He called emergency services but former Corrie actress Paula, 38, could not be saved.
Medics pronounced her dead at 7am yesterday morning.
Cops said they weren’t treating the death as suspicious.
Her death came just hours after 66-year-old Bronson – one of the country’s most notorious prisoners – revealed he wants to wed again.
LIFELESS BODY ON THE BED
Speaking to the Daily Mail Online Mr Jones told of the moment he found her lifeless body at her home in Stoke.
He said: “She got home and had a nightcap with me and then went up to bed. She was sprawled out across the bed so I went downstairs and fell asleep on the sofa.
“I came upstairs at 6.30am. She was laying there perfectly still. I held her hand. I tried to gently wake her up by kissing her forehead, but she wasn’t responding.
“I held onto her, kissed her and stroked her. But then I started to panic, I couldn’t wake her.
“I could see she wasn’t breathing. I was desperate to wake her up. I was trying for…I don’t know how long, maybe 10 minutes, but nothing happened. She wouldn’t wake up.”
Paying tribute to the former actress Mr Jones said: “She was amazing, she was lovely and loving. She would do anything for you. She always had a smile and she was such a positive person. She had such a lovely heart.”
He added: “I said ‘I love you so much’ and she smiled and said ‘I love you too’. Those were the last words I said to her.”
CON TO MARRY AGAIN
Convicted robber Bronson has spent the majority of the past four decades imprisoned for a series of violent crimes.
On Monday it was revealed he is to marry again after striking up a romance with a woman of 63 called Joan. It will be his fourth marriage.
He told The Sun: “My Joan comes from the same era and likes all the same things as me. We’re traditional and have the same style and attitudes. She’s stunning.
“There’s not a 33-year-old bird out there who’s fit to clean her shoes.”
Bronson wed Paula in November 2017 at Wakefield Prison but they split last July when it was revealed a man had put his face between her breasts in a holiday prank.

Bronson, who wed Paula at HMP Wakefield in 2017, last year made a haunting prediction she would die if she didn’t sort herself out.
Paula admitted on Loose Women she had an alcohol and prescription medication problem.
She later said she had depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder.
Bronson is said to be “shocked and upset” by Paula’s death.
He is said to have spoken to his best man Rod Harrison at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes, where he is now held.
A statement on Paula’s Twitter account yesterday read: “Paula’s Management can confirm Paula has Passed away. Thank you for all the messages Paula’s Family will be deeply Touched.”
Staffordshire Police confirmed there will be a post mortem examination.
