Elton John and Taron Egerton reunited on stage for the singer's AIDS Foundation Midsummer Party in Antibes on Wednesday night.
The actor, 29, who portrayed Elton in Rocketman, delighted guests when he tried on the singer's checked jacket, which was worn on stage at the Omni in Atlantica in 1976, before resurfacing in the biopic nearly 50 years later.
Throwing his support behind his mentor, the screen star modelled the quirky blazer during the live auction and held it open for Elton, 72, to sign the lining.

Marking the first-ever gala event held in the South of France, the ball celebrates the 26th anniversary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which aims to create an AIDS free future in order to make the biggest possible difference to those living with HIV.
Over the last 26 years the foundation's achievements include: reaching millions across 26 countries with the HIV information, support and care to save their lives and protect those they love; preventing almost a million babies being born with the HIV virus; and helping to leverage more than £300 million in additional funding from governments and funding partners.
Since the first ever summer ball back in 1999, global HIV treatment has expanded from less than 300,000 people to over 20 million.

Last year's Argento Ball saw the launch of the 2018 fundraising campaign, which is aimed at young people at risk of HIV.
In a recent statement, the Candle in the Wind singer said the foundation's mission 'is more important than ever' in our current climate.
He added that he and everyone at the Foundation is optimistic about their ability to impact those affected by HIV and AIDS.

'We believe everyone living with HIV/AIDS should have immediate access to high quality medical care and all people at risk of HIV should be empowered with the best knowledge and tools available to prevent transmission...
'No matter who they are, who they love, what they believe, where they come from, or what they do', he ended his impassioned post.
