"Many Photos" - Racing Report Card: A runaway winner, a sensational ride and one for the tracker

WOW. With some epic performances, wall-to-wall action and global superstars, the Flat season certainly returned with a bang.

We’ve kept you in the loop in case you missed out on some of today’s action.

Epic performance 🔼

AUXERRE (3.35 Doncaster) blew his rivals away to return one of the shortest-priced winners in Lincoln history.

Of all the displays on Saturday, this was the most impressive – to lead from pillar to post in such a competitive race takes some doing, and James Doyle was merely a passenger in the saddle.

The stunning colt has clearly improved since he was last seen winning a Kempton handicap and he certainly landed a good few punts on Town Moor this afternoon.

Bookies have already put him up at 10-1 for the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot, and Group 1 company definitely doesn’t look beyond the realms of possibility after this.

Ride of the day 💰

Off to Uttoxeter for this one, where Harry Skelton gave RENWICK (3-1f) one of the strongest rides you’ll see.

Punters will have had their head in the hands half-way up the run-in as he was headed by runner-up Starjac, but Skelton didn’t give up and galvanised his mount to nose ahead in the final strides.

It was the never-say-die attitude of a man desperate to get his trainer-brother to the 200 winner mark – and with that kind of ride, there’s no reason why he won’t.

One for your tracker 🔭

Keep an eye on the progressive FORBIDDEN PLANET (3.15 Kempton), who fairly scampered home in the Rosebery Handicap.

Form-book shrewdies will have noticed how well-treated he was, having just been beaten by the now 97-rated Executive Force when last seen – and he was a class apart under a magnificent Jason Watson.

The pace set was a very strong one and it appeared as though he would surely be a hostage to those held up in the rear, but he found plenty and is clearly a horse going places.
