"Many Photos" - Geri Horner finally responds to Mel B romance claims as she looks ahead to Spice Girls tour

Geri Horner has broken her silence, one week after pal Mel B let slip about their secret liaison in the Spice Girls.

Responding to claims that the fling lasted for a whole year, Geri, 46, has said that she feels 'hurt' by rumours about the relationship and wants to move on.

In a statement issued to MailOnline on Sunday, Geri reiterated her love for all four of her former bandmates and shared how much she was looking forward to touring with Mel B, 43, Mel C, 45, and Emma Bunton, 43, later this year.

An official comment reads: 'It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days. 

'Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria [Beckham]. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family. 

'Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.'

Geri - who is mum to daughter Bluebell, 12, and son Monty, two - also wished the fans a Happy Mother’s Day, shortly after posting a tribute to her own mother Ana María, using the Spice Girls lyrics: 'Mama I love you.'

One week after Mel admitted to sleeping with Geri in their heyday, during a taping for Piers Morgan's Life Stories, the pair were hit by claims that it was not just a 'one-time' thing. 

Sources told The Mail on Sunday it was a case of ‘lust at first sight’ when the two met for the first time in 1994, aged 18 and 21.

One friend recalled: ‘It was in the very early days of the Spice Girls and their relationship lasted far longer than one night – it was at least 12 months.'

Geri has stayed quiet ever since Mel brought their sexual past into the limelight last weekend.

Piers claims Mel made a frenzied phone call to Geri after filming wrapped to explain the confession and 'smooth things over'.

And despite Mel's fears that Geri's husband Christian Horner would 'kill her' for the very public confession, the Spice Girls tour seems to be full steam ahead.

Geri has reportedly hired a vocal coach to strengthen her part in the comeback, and the four-piece are also said to be considering a summer collaboration with DJ Diplo to relaunch the band. 

The mum-of-two was thought to be celebrating Mother's Day at home on Sunday while husband Christian is in Bahrain for the Grand Prix.

She shared a picture with son Monty, saying: 'Happy Mother’s day to all the people who take care of someone. Love Monty & me, And the rest of the gang.'

Meanwhile Mel, who divorced from Stephen Belafonte last year, is alleged to have been going on secret dates with former girlfriend Christine Crokos.
