RAFA BENITEZ hopes he is sticking two fingers up at Old Trafford today . . . in a ‘V for victory’ salute.
Mike Ashley was accused of flashing a ‘V’ sign at Newcastle fans on Wednesday as he left a dinner he had organised with boss Benitez and his squad.

The Toon owner released a statement the following evening insisting he was not making a rude gesture.
But ahead of today’s clash at Manchester United, Benitez smiled: “Because I come from another country, if you win it’s a victory — and it’s the victory sign.
“So hopefully we can do that at the end of the game. Victory!”
Benitez was yesterday fined £60,000 by the FA after accepting a charge of commenting on a referee ahead of the clash at Crystal Palace.

The Spaniard, whose contract expires next summer, admitted he did not speak to Ashley — who will be at his third straight Newcastle game today — about his future during their three-hour meal.
And Benitez admits it will take much more than an £8.95 risotto marinara to convince him to sign a new deal.
He added: “It was a pleasant dinner. Can some good come from it? I think so.
“The players and what they have to do on the pitch and in training is the key. But other things can help.

“It was nice to have all the team together. I think that was Mike’s idea.”
Benitez was also offered no assurances about his January budget even though a lack of transfer activity is why his relationship with Ashley deteriorated.
And the club last night assured fans Ashley IS still trying to sell up.
Minutes published from a Fans Forum meeting, attended by managing director Lee Charnley, revealed: “The club remains for sale. There has not been a lot of serious interest and a sale is not close as it stands.”
