But it looks like Brittany Hockley and Sophie Tieman walked away with something better than famous boyfriend: a lifelong friendship.

The two women were spotted at Sydney Airport on Sunday looking happier than ever as they smiled and laughed at the check-in counter.

Despite their shared heartbreak making headlines across the country, Brittany and Sophie appeared in good spirits before their flight. 

Port Macquarie-based Brittany, 30, was seen affectionately gazing at Sophie, 25, while they stood in line at the Qantas counter.

Putting on a tactile display, it was abundantly clear the pair had become extremely close over the past six months.

At one point, Brittany appeared to crack a joke that made Sophie throw her head back with laughter.

Braving the rainy Sydney weather, the brunette radiographer looked stylish in a longline coat, scarf and cropped black trousers.

She completed her look with a pair of slides and a white Assembly Label canvas bag.

Meanwhile, property valuer Sophie, 25, opted for pastel colours for the outing.

Living up to her fashion blogger credentials, she looked stylish in a pink coat with oversized pockets and white skintight trousers.

She finished off her look with black pointed flats and a large metallic handbag, and styled her blonde hair in a low-maintenance bun.

It comes after Brittany and Sophie spoke about their heartbreaking double dumping in The Bachelor finale, which aired on Thursday.

Appearing on The Sunday Project over the weekend, a tearful Sophie said she she hoped Nick was 'a little unhappy' after what he had done.

'I would hope he's a little embarrassed, we just went through so many highs and so many lows,' she said.

'And I'm sure he did too – but I just hope there's something in him that's a little unhappy or uneasy with his decision because God knows we have been through it.' 

Farewell: It appeared the two women were going their separate ways after concluding their post-Bachelor media duties

Meanwhile, Brittany also appeared to be struggling with Nick's decision.

'You don't go to an all-you-can-eat buffet when you've just had lunch, do you? You just don't do it,' Brittany said, seemingly referring to the fact the rugby star signed up for The Bachelor despite not being ready for a relationship.

'I just thought everything that's happened to me was for a reason and it was leading up to this moment.'
