New photo Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville face off in highly competitive sprint

Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville showed their competitive spirits remained intact as they raced each other across the pitch at the Amex Stadium.

The pair were asked by a Sky Sports viewer who was fastest, and opted to find out with a spontaneous sprint across the width of the pitch.

Carragher looked to have the advantage all the way through the sprint, with both competitors losing the windshields off their microphones.

The pair decide to settle the contest for good on the pitch at the Amex Stadium 

The impromptu race took place before Brighton's Friday night game against West Ham

Carragher and Neville have become well-known for their regular jousting on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, having played for close rivals Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.

The pair were at the Amex Stadium ahead of Brighton's Premier League clash against West Ham on Monday night.

Carragher, who has returned to duty following suspension last season for spitting in the direction of a fan who had been goading him, had read out a question about who would win in a race.

Neville responded that it would most likely be him, before Carragher suggested the pair settle the matter right there. The former United captain agreed and the pair staged an impromptu race.
