"Many Photos" - Troubled ex-Manchester United star Paul McGrath says his son is MISSING

Former footballer Paul McGrath has shared a troubling post saying that his son is missing.

The ex-Manchester United player tweeted to say he was concerned for the welfare of his child, also called Paul. 

Sharing a picture of them both together on Twitter, he pleaded for help to find his son as he said he could be in either Hale, a village in Greater Manchester, or London.

Paul McGrath shared this tweet begging for help from his followers to find his son as he wrote that he had gone missing 

Followers have retweeted the disturbing post more than 16,000 times and concerned fans flocked to comment since it was shared just after 7pm.

The ex-Aston Villa's tweet read: 'Please retweet. Looking for social media help please. 

'Has anyone seen my son Paul in around Hale, Manchester , London or any airports in the past few days? 

'Police have been informed but we are very concerned and someone somewhere might have spotted him #thankyou.'

Well-wishers have left the retired defender messages of support, with Ty Bracey writing: 'Let’s hope he’s found safe and sound really soon Paul. Fingers crossed for you.'

Kasir Kkay commented 'praying you find him safe and sound', and Craig Keegan urged fellow fans: 'Come on Villans get retweeting #avfc.' 

McGrath - who also played internationally for the Republic of Ireland - had a troubled life following his retirement from football.

He spoke openly about his battles with alcohol addiction in an interview on the Late Late Show in 2017.

'I don't drink to be social,' he said. 'I don't drink to chat up people or anything. [I drink] for oblivion really to be honest. [I drink] so I can just lie in my own house and just get myself ready, and then tidy myself up, and then try and go out to something that I don't really want to go out to.'
