Shocking footage shows the moment a BBC TV presenter is involved in a terrifying car crash on a major UK motorway as the perpetrator drives off.
Annie McGuire's dash cam clip shows a large pick-up vehicle bumping into a neighbouring car and then her own car on the M1 near Sheffield, South Yorkshire last night.
The reporter told of her 'fright' as the collision took place at high speed with her children in the car.
Footage shows the 4x4 approaching Mrs McGuire's car at high speed as it tries to overtake
Mrs McGuire, a presenter on BBC Scotland's programme 'The Edit', posted the footage of the incident on Twitter.
She captioned the clip: 'I’m going to post this. We got the fright of our lives so excuse some swearing. Worth watching the second vid to see the way they drive off.
'So so glad children are okay. M1 near Sheffield/Barnsley. Unlikely anyone knows this driver but please get in touch if you do.'
Because of its high speed, the truck collides with another vehicle driving in the middle lane
The clip shows the presenter's car driving along the motorway in the left lane as the truck approaches at high speed from behind.
As it gets closer, the truck appears to attempt an overtake into the middle lane but collides with another vehicle there.
The impact is so strong that the 4x4 then ploughs into Mrs McGuire's car.
Screaming can be heard from inside the car at the moment of the crash.
The white vehicle, pictured, retains control despite the crash and veers into the right hand lane
The white vehicle first hit by the truck manages to retain control and veers into the right hand lane.
The front camera of Mrs McGuire's car shows the truck attempting to keep control as it drives off despite the crash.
At the point of impact a man in the car can be heard shouting 'holy s***' just before the BBC presenter asks her children if they are ok.
Additional footage captured by the presenter's dash cam shows the truck driving off
In a following tweet, Mrs McGuire uploaded the front facing clip with the caption: 'The guys in the white car who also nearly got hit stayed with us and were lovely. Car is a write off.
'We have been so well looked after by the staff of the Premier Inn Sheffield/Barnsley. There are still many more good guys than bad out there. But yeah maybe get a dashcam.'
The videos have been watched over 125,000 times combined.

Social media users reacted to the footage supporting the journalist.
Fellow BBC colleague Nick Eardley said: 'OMG. Hope you're all okay.'
Richard McGinley wrote: 'That motor will be on every camera in every police car, every motorway and road. It'll be traced. In fact, they should be able to trace where it went afterwards. Might want to suggest that to them.'
After she posted the footage on Twitter, many people supported the presenter by taking screenshots of the truck's number plate
South Yorkshire Police's account commented: 'Hi Annie, I'm just checking you have reported this and sent the footage to us? It's really scary, glad you are all OK.'
The journalist replied: 'Yes police were on the scene shortly after and very kindly let my children have a seat in their police car which was a highlight. They have registration number but not footage said they would collect at a later date. Please pass our thanks to them.'
Paul Smith said: 'A***hole drivers like that end up hurting drivers who drive in the correct manner, glad all ok in your car and your repair bill's not too high.'
Several social media users helped Annie out by taking a screenshot of the vehicle's number plate.
