"Many Photos" - Brooklyn shooting – Gunman ‘kills one and injures 11’ after opening fire at ‘Old Timers Day’ party in New York

A GUNMAN opened fire at a family street party in Brooklyn, leaving one dead and 11 others injured, according to reports.

Cops are hunting for the shooter after gunfire erupted at the annual ‘Old Timers Day’ block party in Brownsville, New York, on Saturday.

Terrified partygoers fled from the scene after shots rang out near a playground along Hegeman Avenue just before 11pm.

Officials confirmed at least six people were rushed to nearby Brookdale Hospital and to Kings County Hospital, with some in a serious condition.

Footage shows injured revellers being taken away on stretchers after the gunman opened fire.

“I heard shots and I ducked,” one 66-year-old man who attended the party told the New York Post.

“When I stuck my head up, and the smoke cleared, it was pure pandemonium,” said the man, who asked not to be named.

The party, which is in its 56th year, attracts thousands of people with concerts, food and exhibitions.
