A BRIDE-to-be and her baby girl died during childbirth after her fiance proposed to celebrate news he was about about to become a dad again.
Rebecca Sargeant died on July 20, leaving behind a 15-month-old son and devastated Dale Foster who she said was the “love of her life”.
Family and friends in Melbourne, Australia, have been left heartbroken after complications during the birth led to the pair’s death.
Ms Sargeant also left behind four step-children who her pals say “she loved like they were her own”.
Rebecca had been placed into an induced coma as a result of complications in labour as she gave birth to Peyton, according to reports.
Friend Liz Jowett said Rebecca always “put her family first in every single situation”.
She told 7news.com.au : “She always wanted to help everybody. She was thoughtful and considerate.
“She would often tell me we had met for a reason. She was a great support. Everybody is just shocked and devastated that this could even happen.
“We are really feeling for those other mums currently pregnant – something like this is very confronting.”
Heartbreakingly, Rebecca had gushed about the future in an online post to Dale not long before she died.
“I simply adore the both of you,” she told him. “You are the best father to our babies.
“I love you so much and can’t wait to continue our journey of love, happiness and family.”
“Our hearts are broken and we miss you so much already. No more suffering in pain,” Mr Foreman wrote in tribute.
“You have your wings our darling girls. We will look after your baby boy Jax and your loving partner Dale forever.”

A GoFundMe page for Rebecca’s family has already raised more than £15,000.
It reads: “Dale will now become sole parent to Jax and give up work to take care of their son who is 15 months old.
“We would love any support you could possibly give to help Dale. This is going to be a very hard journey for Dale and little Jax and any support would be truly appreciated.”
