A MILLIONAIRE lawyer whose dad slept with her nanny has won a battle over his £1million property portfolio.

Audra Wamsteker, 49, had idolised father Paul David, 78, until she discovered his affair with Jobeth Daguio — the 28-year-old who looked after her two kids.

Paul David, then-70, marrying his daughter’s nanny. The pair wed despite the disapproval of daughter Audra Wamsteker

It sparked a battle over the ownership of a luxury Surrey house and a London flat — as well as 23 items of jewellery that belonged to Ms Wamsteker’s late mother.

The properties were in Mrs Wamsteker’s name but her father claimed he was the “beneficial owner.”

Central London County Court heard that Mrs Wamsteker, who lives in Canary Wharf, has been practising law in London for 17 years and previously worked for accounting giants Ernst & Young.

Her father, who lives in Stratford, East London, told the court that he is also a qualified lawyer.

The pair had always been close in their personal and financial lives, sharing a mutually ‘”loving and generous” relationship.

The family built up a portfolio of properties across London, the USA and Malaysia.

But that was before rows over their respective choice of partners following the death of Mrs Wamsteker’s mother – Mr David’s first wife – in 2008, tore the family apart.

David married the nanny when he was 70 — and photographs of their wedding day enraged his daughter.

Mr David showed no trace of emotion in court today when Judge Simon Monty QC, ruled both properties in England, the income from the American homes and the jewellery rightfully belong to his daughter.

The judge said: “Before they fell out Mr David and his daughter Mrs Wamsteker were very close.

“After the death of his wife, Mr David, who was then living Mrs Wamsteker and family, formed a relationship with the nanny employed by Mrs Wamsteker and her husband to look after their two young children.

“The revelation of this new relationship in 2013 proved to be the start of a breakdown of the previously good relationship between Mr David and his daughter.”

He added: “It is desperately sad to see a previously close and loving family having fallen out so spectacularly.”

The disputed properties included a four-bedroom detached bungalow in Worcester Park, Surrey, worth £740,000, and a flat in West Ham, East London, worth around £275,000.

In statement after the judgement Mrs Wamsteker said: “I did not bring these proceedings and had no wish to be involved in this litigation and the publicity which ensued.

“It has caused me a great deal of distress. Today’s judgement vindicates me entirely, and I am glad that it is now concluded with court firmly finding in my favour.”

Mr David had argued he had paid the deposits for the properties them both and either “funded” or made “contributions” to their mortgages.

As well as a declaration that he owns the properties, Mr David wanted his daughter to pay him around £150,000 in rent for having “excluded” him from the house and the flat since 2013.

He also claimed he paid for four properties in Florida which were sold in 2014 and is now “entitled to the proceeds of sale”, which Mrs Wamsteker currently holds.

Mrs Wamsteker also refused to give up her late mother’s jewellery as she says it was “a gift” by her father before their relationship broke down.

Mr David denied threatening to attack his daughter’s lover with an axe in a fit of rage — but called Mr Wamsteker a “greedy” man.

He must now pay legal costs of £120,000.
