A Tennessee father has been charged with child abuse after a disturbing surveillance video has emerged showing him brutally beating and kicking his six-year-old son.

Wilson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 3800 block of Nonaville Road in Mount Juliet on Sunday after getting a 911 call from the young victim’s mother.

Nia Show, a mother-of-three, said that her ex-husband, Randy Dickens, repeatedly struck their son Damien with an open hand and kicked him in the abdomen for misbehaving in school.

Deputies reviewed surveillance footage that captured Dickens pulling down the boy’s pants to expose his buttocks and spanking him on the front porch of their home, with the boy’s young sibling looking on.

When Damien tries to get away from his father by seeking refuge inside his bedroom, Dickens follows him and continues pummelling him.

Snow told Fox 17 News Dickens started out by spanking the six-year-old as punishment, but then took it too far.

'All of a sudden, his whole body just started going into it,' she said of her ex-husband. 'He was drooling out of his mouth, he was putting so much effort into it.'

According to Snow, when Damien was just two months old her, ex-boyfriend savagely beat the infant, resulting in multiple fractures and landing the man in prison.

Snow, who described herself as a survivor of physical abuse, said she was afraid to confront Dickens in the moment because he has a legally purchased gun.

She broke down recounting how throughout the beating, her young son was screaming her name.

After Sunday’s attack, Snow convinced Dickens to go out to buy groceries so she could call the deputies and show them the video recording depicting the abuse. The deputies also seized two rifles from the family's home.

Dickens turned himself in early Monday morning and was jailed on charges of child abuse/neglect.

He was later released on $7,500 bond with the condition that he stay away his ex-wife and Damien, who sustained bruises to his face.

Snow said she is fearful for her family’s safety and is looking to move into a shelter for victims of domestic abuse.
