EDDIE HOWE is ready to take over as Manchester United manager, says Tim Sherwood.
Howe has performed well at Bournemouth during his nine years at the club and the former Aston Villa boss believes he deserves his chance at a top club.
Sherwood, 49, said: “Eddie Howe would make a massive difference to Manchester United Football Club if he went in there now.
“For me he’s ready to manage a big side, a very big side in the Premier League.
“Is he going to get that opportunity? I don’t know. It fits. The club fits for Eddie.
“For me at the moment he is ready to take a big job but what will happen is a foreign manager we’ve never ever heard of.
“He’ll come in and all of a sudden he will get one of the big jobs in the Premier League.
“If you go into Man United at the moment, you cannot fail. You cannot fail. They can’t be any worse than they are.”
Howe’s Bournemouth sit fifth in the Premier League and battered Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road yesterday.
The Cherries have scored 16 goals in the league this season and Howe has been lauded for sticking to his attacking and attractive style of play which saw the club promoted to the Premier League in 2015.

And the former Bournemouth player has cemented the south coast club in the top flight.
But while all is well at the Vitality, Manchester United continue to struggle under Jose Mourinho despite scraping past Newcastle yesterday.

Sherwood thinks the Red Devils have got their focus wrong in preparing for matches.
He added: “I think Man United at the moment look up to the opposition too much, spend too much time addressing the opposition instead of having their own identity.
“Now that guy, Eddie Howe, is managing Bournemouth. And yes he talks about the opposition but he is concentrating on how they are going to go about their game and imposing themselves on the opposition.
“Week-in, week-out, he causes the opposition problems.
“He’s been there at Bournemouth, it didn’t work out for him at Burnley and he’s come back and done absolutely brilliantly.”
