TRIPADVISOR has named the best theme parks in the UK as voted for by travellers.
Family favourites Paultons Park in Romsey came in at number one, followed by The Milky Way Adventure Park in Clovelly.
Also on the Travellers’ Choice Amusement & Water Parks 2019 list were popular attractions like Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers.
The results were based on the reviews left on TripAdvisor by travellers.
The website took into account the number of reviews, as well as the ratings given to the attraction for the last year.
It also announced the best theme parks and water parks around the world.
Read on to see if your favourite made it onto the list.
1. Paultons Park, Romsey
Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig, has come in at number one again.
The family favourite has just announced a huge new themed world, which is set to launch in 2020.
Tickets to the park start from £30.50 for adults, while children until one metre are free.
2. The Milky Way Adventure Park, Clovelly
The Milky Way Adventure Park in Devon features indoor and outdoor attractions.
Its big new attraction this year is Ziggy’s Blast Quest, an interactive shoot out experience.
Tickets start from £15.45 for adults and children between three and 17, £7 for kids aged one to two, and free for those under one – although you can get a discount of you book online.
3. Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is home to the UK’s only Nickelodeon Land.
But it’s perhaps best known for its rollercoasters, including Icon, which opened last year.
Book ahead as you can get tickets from £28 for adults if you book online, and £26 for children 11 and under – otherwise it’s £39 and £33 respectively.
4. Clifton Park, Rotherham
Clifton Park features a number of family-friendly activities, including a mini golf and fun park for kids.
Its rollercoasters are even gentle enough for kids, although there are some scarier ones.
There are lots of free attractions and you just pay to go on individual rides.
5. Sundown Adventureland, Retford
Sundown Adventureland is billed as the theme park for under 10s.
There are lots of rides and attractions for kids, including an Angry Bird themed one.
Tickets are by height – adults and kids over 90cm will have to pay £16.75 while those under it can get in for free.
6. Adventure Island, Southend-on-Sea
It’s completely free to visit Adventure Island.
However, to go on one of the rides, you have to buy one of their wrist bands.
Get them online before you go as they cost £15 rather than £20 for the cheapest bands.
7. Crealy Family Theme Park, Exeter
Crealy Family Theme Park has a whole host of attractions and you can also stay there for a short break.
The park has hot tub lodges and glamping areas and also hosts events.
Tickets for the park itself is based on height, and start from £13.56 for those between 92cm and 100cm and £17.56 for those over 100cm if you book online.
8. Brighton Palace Pier, Brighton
For more traditional rides, Brighton Palace Pier is the place to visit.
There’s everything from a carousel to trampolines.
Tickets are by height here, and if you’re 1.2m and over you will have to pay £22.50 if you book ahead or £13 if you’re under that.
9. Harbour Park, Littlehampton
Harbour Park is great if you’re looking for fun by the seaside.
It’s located right by the waterfront and all the rides and ocean-themed as well.
Rides are through writstbands, which start from £18 if you book online.
10. Alton Towers, Alton
Alton Towers needs no introduction thanks to its famous rollercoasters, but you can also do mini breaks there.
It’s actually one of the UK theme parks that gives you free entry if it rains when you visit.
Tickets start from £34 if you book online.
