"Many Photos" - The baby names to choose if you want your little darling to become rich, including Leo and Rose

IF you’re currently expecting a little one and want the best for them in life then you need to give them a nickname as this will earn them the highest wage later in life.


The most popular boys’ and girls’ names which earn the most has been revealed, and it seems nicknames earn you more cash.

The list was compiled by job seeker website Adzuna, who analysed 1.5 million CVs submitted to their website.


They published a list of the ten favourite names which are guaranteed to make your kids big bucks.


Examining statistics, they revealed the most popular baby names which have the highest earning potential.


For women, Rose was top with £30,099, followed by Eleanor with £28,413, and in third place was Alice with £28,396.

Next was Amelia, who earns £27,645, and making up the top five is Lucy with £27,445.


For boys, the most popular high earner was Leo, who raked in £41,722, followed by Oscar with £37,786, and in third place is George, who will make £37,342.


Next was Oliver, who will earn £35,536, then Charlie who looks set to earn £33,298.


Overall, the names which earn the most don’t appear in the list of most popular baby names.


For women the highest earning name was Liz, raking in £38,792.

For men it’s Ed, and they earn a lot more each year – £61,362.


Making up the top five for women are Jo, on £38,741, Michele is third earning £36,305, in fourth place is Alexis with £36,240, while Jean’s earn £35,468.


For men, the next highest earner is Bill, who makes £56,731, followed by Geoff on £53,991, in third place are Bob’s on £53,025, and making up the top five is Mike, who earns £52,986.

Doug Monro, co-founder of Adzuna, commented: “‘Ed’ and ‘Liz’ top the chart of most valuable names in the UK, meaning workers with these names are worth the most to potential employers.


“As a rule of thumb, those with traditional names consistently rate as higher earners.”


“New mums and dads may want to bear this in mind when christening their babies.”


Interestingly, a lot of names in the top ten for both genders were nicknames.


From Phil and Dave to Sue and Kate, it seems giving your child a name which can be shortened could see them earning a bigger paycheck.

Doug added: ”It’s interesting that the most successful workers typically use a nickname in their professional lives.


“This could signal an informality and approachability that has helped them climb the career tree.


“Or it could reflect the confidence that comes with success.

“Either way, jobseekers may want to try adopting a nickname to help secure the highest pay levels possible.”


But he noted that men were still earning more than women on average, adding: “Also of note, the highest earning names are typically seen as ‘male’ names, showing there is still work to do to close the gender pay gap.”
