PEP GUARDIOLA hopes Manchester City are ready to reach a crescendo in the Champions League.
The English champs have hit some dud notes on the European stage over the years.

Their manager conducted his media conference at the Philharmonic Concert Hall in Essen ahead of tonight’s Champions League game with Schalke.
And Pep conceded: “The first season was a big fail. I believe the team after three seasons with me are doing better things than the first season.”
Back in 2017 City went out to Monaco at the last-16 stage — pipped on away goals after a 6-6 aggregate draw.
Last year they were beaten by Liverpool in the quarter-finals. Now they are expected to see off German outsiders Schalke in the last 16 this year.

Guardiola added: “We’ve been together a long time.
“You have to suffer the bad moments, survive them and in the right moments make the difference.”
The City chief is hoping for a performance in the Veltins Stadium which will strike a chord with some of their recent displays.
He said: “In 12 games we won 11. We arrive with many dreams in our heads, to make a good game and to bring it back to our stadium where we feel confident.”
