Queen Letizia of Spain looked polished in a grey dress as she joined husband King Felipe for an awards ceremony in Madrid today.
The Spanish queen, 46, wore the checked frock with pretty cobalt blue heels and a black clutch bag as she attended the ceremony at the El Pardo Palace.
The dress, which had short sleeves, featured a tie that cinched the royal's waist and complimented her husband's grey suit.

The couple were at the National Research awards in Madrid, an annual ceremony for innovators in the fields of medicine, biology, engineering, social sciences and humanities.
The awards is known in Spain as the Premios Nacionales De Investigacion.
The Queen of Spain wore her brunette locks down and straight, small hoop earrings and her make-up natural, with a light brown lip.
King Felipe looked smart too, as he stood next to her, congratulating the winners of the awards, in a grey suit and teal tie.
Later on the they posed with the winners of this years awards, which was held at El Pardo Palace.

While on Wednesday her and King Felipe put on a rare display of public affection as they kissed and hugged when he won an award at the World Law Congress in Madrid.
