"Many Photos" - Help me - someone is trying to steal my cannabis stash, dopey 999 caller tells Thames Valley Police

A distressed drug user was so upset when people tried to steal his stash – he called in the police to help him – a stunned force has revealed.

Police operators took the call in Buckinghamshire this week when a man requested back up from Thames Valley Police over the theft of his 'weed'.

The man's marijuana was allegedly being taken by people in his company.

Officers who saw the more amusing side – implied he was the 'village idiot'.

Police revealed the caller said to the 999 dispatcher: 'Hi, people are trying to steal my weed off me.'

Thames Valley Police told Facebook followers about the bizarre call - but did not reveal how they responded

Officers were urged to arrest the man for calling - as well as the person stealing his stash 

It 'isn't a call that we should be getting to our 101 or 999 phone lines, particularly when reporting the theft of your drugs', officers said.

Although the force joked he was the 'call of the week'.

Dozens replied on Facebook describing the caller as a 'village idiot'.

One person wrote: 'You can't fix stupid'.

Another joked: What a dope.'

Others said both the man and his alleged thief friends should be taken into custody – to which officers joked: 'Two birds with one stoner'.

A Thames Valley Police officer said the 999 call was made from the Aylesbury area.

'Officers searched for the caller but he was no longer on the scene, so no further action was taken,' he added.
