ALEXANDER Slack has a feather in his cap after winning our Rembrandt selfie competition.
Artist Rembrandt, who died 350 years ago, was the inventor of the selfie, creating 100 self-portraits in his lifetime.
We asked our brilliant readers to use his pictures as the inspiration for a selfie and the winning picture will hang in Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum, along with 400 of Rembrandt’s pictures, at an exhibition that opens on Friday.
Expert judges voted Alexander’s selfie – posed in a cap with feathers attached with a ruff made out of a page of The Sun – the winner from hundreds of entries.
Alexander, 53, of Penzance, Cornwall, said “I am so thrilled to have won and thank you to The Sun for inspiring me to be creative. I can’t wait to go to Amsterdam and see the real Rembrandts.”
One of our judges, The Sun’s legendary royal photographer said: “The winning picture showed lots of imagination, a brilliant portrait with great lighting.”
