PHILLIP Schofield has hit back at claims Dancing On Ice is fixed.
The star, who co-hosts the programme with Holly Willoughby, spoke out after it was claimed the programme was rigged to keep Gemma Collins in the show.
Phil – who told Gemma that he’ll see her next week before the results were announced – says if the show was fixed, he’d quit working on it.
He wrote on Twitter: “I DIDN’T … I was being supportive.. bore off. Not amusing.. hilarious.
“I said it to Gemma cos she was crying. Oh btw .. it’s illegal to fix tv shows and I wouldn’t work on one that was.
“WE ARE INDEPENDENTLY ADJUDICATED!!! All votes are checked and agreed by an independent company.”
The controversial contestant broke down in tears after she received low marks from the judges – insisting that her fall during last week’s live show had knocked her confidence.
Attempting to comfort the star, Phil reassured Gemma as he said: “Well, we’ve got next week as well.
“So you’ve got the whole week to build back up again.”
But fans at home were confused by his remark, as the voting lines hadn’t even opened at that point and Gemma needed to survive the public vote in order to return next week.
Later in the evening, it was announced that Gemma had made it through – with viewers taking to social media to brand the show a “fix”.
One tweeted: “So Phillip Scholfield said that Gemma Collins has a whole week ahead of her to practise.
“A blunder? Is the show a fix? She gets consistent bad scores, can’t dance nor skate and yet gets through week after week. Must be a fix?”

A third said: “Is it worth voting if @Schofe said Gemma will have next week? Was it a slip up? Hmmmm sounds a bit dodgy.”
Saira Khan ended up being the latest star to be eliminated from the competition after facing Ryan Sidebottom in the skate off.
A rep for Dancing On Ice’s denied the fix claims, telling The Sun Online: “The show is not fixed.”
