Comedy fans were left devastated when David Walliams and Matt Lucas fell out – putting an end to the hilarious partnership that brought us Little Britain.
But following an eight-year rift, I’m delighted to reveal they’ve kissed and made up and will work together again next year.
Sources close to the pair say that they are working on a television comeback for the 2019 Comic Relief extravaganza in March.
David Walliams and Matt Lucas are seen at a party in 2009 - the two fell out around eight years ago putting an end to the hilarious partnership that brought us Little Britain
However, it is unlikely that they will make an episode of their cult sketch show as Little Britain is deemed not politically correct enough for today’s TV audience. Instead, the pair are looking at reprising their 2010 ‘mockumentary’ series Come Fly With Me set in Stansted Airport.
A source close to the pair revealed: ‘It’s all very quiet, and very recent, but Matt and David have started speaking again. They’ve made up, which is amazing and what’s even better is that they are in serious discussions to work together next year.
‘Both realise they missed one another a lot and realise how much joy they can bring themselves and the general public by making a comeback. They are not sure they can make Little Britain work today, as it has come under so much scrutiny, so toned-down Come Fly With Me is seeming the best option at the moment.’
Little Britain became cult viewing after its TV launch on BBC3 in 2003 – leaving viewers in stitches thanks to the now iconic characters such as single mum Vicky Pollard and best friends Lou and Andy.
Matt Lucas and David Walliams were behind the BBC TV series Little Britain which featured a number of different comedy sketches (one of which is pictured here)
It became so popular that the Beeb moved it to BBC2 the following year and to BBC1 in 2005. The pair subsequently made American spin-off Little Britain USA before turning their talent to Come Fly With Me. Neither Britain’s Got Talent judge Walliams, 47, nor Lucas, 44, have made any secret of their rift.
‘We’re very different people and probably want different things and had different working methods,’ said Walliams in 2012.
‘It’s over for the time being. Whether it’s over for ever, I don’t know. But Matt wanted to go off and do his own thing, he wanted to be himself on a show, he wanted to do The Matt Lucas Awards [Lucas’s entertainment show] and that’s why at the moment we are not doing things together.’
Lucas has been more stinging, saying last year: ‘Throughout our relationship David and I would often be at loggerheads during rehearsals and shooting. Walliams has now sold so many children’s books he can probably buy his own private jet, all decked out in pink, with a river inside it for him to swim up.’ Ouch!
Nice try Louise, but we know it’s you hiding away in there!
Former pop star and Strictly finalist Louise Redknapp looked like she was trying to keep a VERY low profile as she took a break from rehearsals for her new starring role in the upcoming West End production of 9 to 5.
Louise, 44, donned huge black sunglasses and wrapped a blue scarf around her head.
Louise – who divorced her football pundit husband Jamie last December – plays Violet in Dolly Parton’s smash hit show, which also stars Love Island 2017 winner Amber Davies and comedian Brian Conley.

To achieve her kick-ass figure, Hayden – who plays cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes – follows the ‘quartering’ rule. She eats only a quarter of the food on her plate, then waits 20 minutes before deciding whether she needs to eat again.
Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”
Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
