FINDING the winning formula for a fabulous 2019 involves making the most of the important factors in life . . . family, friendships and feeling good about yourself.
In the concluding part of my three-day forecast for the year ahead, I look at what the stars have lined up for you in these vital areas.
FAMILY FIRST
You’ll be more determined than ever to get family life working in the way you want and need it to.
Saturn keeps you in control, no matter how far family matters push or pull you.
Plus change-master Pluto keeps coming up with surprises everyone will love.
In January and February you devise genius ways of sharing responsibilities at home to free time for yourself.
A full moon on December 12 is a turning point for keep-in-touch tactics.
REACHING OUT
Mars adds sparkle for the first six months of 2019, making it much easier to refresh friendships that have faded.
Double moons in March and April draw exciting new names towards you by unusual routes, including shared laughter.
There’s a great moment around August 15 when you recognise who completes the puzzle of your future.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Learning to recognise and defuse your own signs of stress promises you a calmer, more productive 2019 – so switch off your over-active brain and simply let your mind wander freely, for at least ten minutes per day.
Positive energy will flow and a yoga or mindfulness app can help.
Aries’ weak spot is head and face, so drink plenty of water and steer clear of over-noisy atmospheres.
Get out in the fresh air whenever you can.
Eat more brown rice, bananas and walnuts to balance your body and reduce spicy foods and salt.
FAMILY FIRST
Having Jupiter in your zone of rewriting personal history is such a glorious gift.
It really helps you to make amends for missed family opportunities, setting up special events that draw a line under the past.
The process is strongest from April 10 to August 11.
From July 1 until November 19, it’s Mars’s turn to get involved by making you fair but no-nonsense.
Special family luck is linked to a vintage wedding outfit.
In 2019, try to find opportunities to bring the family together[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Neptune’s in your friendship zone for the year, fine-tuning your response to others’ feelings so you can anticipate your next moves.
Escaping with mates is a tonic, so stop making excuses and go.
A full moon on September 14 gives you a second chance to click with a work arrival, and Mercury’s quick wits spark some connections of a lifetime in October and November.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Two health moons on March 21 and April 19 make you one to watch as you form your own rules for fitness.
You do need to monitor the sugar in your diet and make changes – it’s time for fewer heavy carbs and much more cranberries, cauliflower and beans.
Make sure you get enough quality sleep to protect yourself from burnout and, if you do, then by the time of your personal full moon, on November 12, you’ll be exceeding your personal best in every way.
FAMILY FIRST
Lucky Jupiter shines on your one-to-one chart all year – and this includes family bonding.
You’ll find it easier to forgive and focus on a bright future.
Jupiter also sets up spontaneous celebrations or other shared events through the year.
A rare second new moon, called a black moon, at the end of August could signal a cash bonanza that transforms a family’s future.
Feeling lucky? You should, as this could be the year you celebrate a big win[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Until March 5, you’re able to read the minds of friends and colleagues and achieve more by working together.
For the rest of the year, you suggest changes that leave both sides feeling positive. Mars increases your assertiveness through March and April, and you’re super-confident.
April 5, June 17, October 13 are great dates to find new mates, or reconnect with old ones.
An event with a Royal flavour in late November makes the future so very exciting.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Care for your chest in 2019, and stretch properly before exercise, as muscles in your arms and legs need looking after.
Mars makes you all-or-nothing at the start, but by May 16 you have a routine that works.
May and October are great for goal setting and with Saturn in your transformer chart all year, the body and brain you dream of can become reality.
Boost intake of citrus fruit, ginger and probiotic yogurt, and choose herbal teas.
FAMILY FIRST
With Saturn in your one-to-one zone, 2019 is perfect for tackling family disputes. Pluto brings change that helps you to seize chances.
Early February is key for getting people together, and from mid-September, you prove physical distance needn’t lessen emotional closeness.
Morning phone calls and the last picture in a file are lucky.
Make 2019 the year to put fitness back into your life[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Mars in your chart affects all friendships and work bonds, because you no longer tolerate being treated unfairly – even if it means drawing a line under relationships you’ve given a second chance.
July 2 is a key date to stop caring what others think. Spending less time with a group that is stifling is a key factor in the autumn, as Uranus becomes established in your group dynamic zone for the next seven years.
Remain the voice of reason in a workplace team.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Jupiter works out in your health sector, so you have extra energy.
Jupiter’s gift is an ability to fit fitness into your daily life in ways that feel like fun – dancing round the kitchen or skipping upstairs.
So throughout 2019, push yourself to add extra steps, a lunchtime swim, some star jumps at the bus stop.
Care for your stomach, with low-fat, high-nutrition food (steamed veg, wholegrains, tofu) and avoid oily foods. June 17 and November 26 are great days to start extra-healthy habits.
FAMILY FIRST
The big 2019 message is that you have more power than you think, especially in a family environment.
So instead of thinking things must always be one way, steer them in a new direction.
The higher your standards, the better. With Jupiter in your creative chart, you can achieve great change.
From July 1, your name is on every relative’s lips, and in some hearts.
The new moon on February 4 and the full moon on August 15, add intensity to outdoor events.
When exercising this year, make sure you are supervised – and don’t overdo it[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Your wisdom helps you to recognise when friends need to do more for each other.
Travelling or learning together can be the key.
Early February is a great time to be honest about what you should change.
Colleagues need to know you can only be pushed so far – and all year you can prove just that.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Saturn in your health chart, along with impulse-led Pluto, make for a fascinating year.
Pacing yourself is key – make changes gradually and surround yourself with positive people.
Planet Uranus rules your goal-setting sector for the next seven years, so you’re thinking long term.
Strengthen back muscles with supervised exercise, and take care when lifting heavy objects.
Increase your intake of root veg, wholegrain rice and sunflower seeds and cut back on dairy products.
Early January, late December, and mid-July are great for new activities.
FAMILY FIRST
Jupiter’s your guiding light, promoting positive contacts on every level.
Much stems from your own attitudes – you find it easier to stay cool, sidestepping sulks.
Strong new moons help you to deal wisely with new responsibilities.
March 6, November 26 and the birthday of your youngest family member are all key dates.
Luck connects you with female cousins and a kitchen with turquoise tiles.
This could be your year for hosting legendary dinner parties[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Neptune governs your chart of give and take, and can lead to unexpected introductions.
You’re total opposites, yet you feel a connection that can last for life.
At work, it’s the person who irritates you most who can turn out to be your best ally.
Summer promises new faces, but your heart can sense instantly who’s a keeper. September 14, December 12, March 6 and July 2 are contact-rich dates.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Starting a fitness kick in March increases its success chances, as Venus calms self-criticism and sets achievable goals.
The lunar eclipse on January 21 is your passport to solo success if a previous group no longer matches your needs.
This can be in a sporting sense, as you explore personal goals, or a general fitness-based choice.
If you’ve struggled to stick to regimes, in 2019 you can nail it.
Food-wise, try more leafy greens, fresh veg or bean soups and humous – and fewer rich sauces.
FAMILY FIRST
With double planet oomph from Uranus and Mars boosting your get-together zone in January and February, you are ready to see through a big family move.
It’s not always easy to knuckle down to responsibility but now you can, and will – especially before April 29 and after September 18.
Eclipses on January 6 and December 26 frame a year of family fresh starts and reconciliation.
Choose your pals wisely – fair-weather friends are not worth your time[/caption]
REACHING OUT
The first four months of the year find you hyper-aware of who is in your contacts book and why.
Inspired by full-moon honesty, you recognise fair-weather friends and accept loyalty is worth little when it only goes one way.
All year long, relatively recent introductions support you best. August is prime time for making lasting and lucky friendships.
Work groups are remixed in July and October, giving you more to do but much more to gain too.
FEELGOOD+FOOD
A shift from thinking to feeling powers your health, as Uranus enters your transformation zone on March 5 for seven years.
Intuitive Neptune stays in your wellbeing sector until 2026, so let your deepest self draw you to activities, people and foods, instead of obsessing over image.
Stress levels drop when you sign up for the right course.
Try to do so by June 21, when Neptune spins back. Lighten up your diet with oats, apples, spinach and almond milk.
Jupiter helps you talk with sincerity
FAMILY FIRST
After a roller coaster first couple of months, your year settles into its new position in March.
You won’t accept unsatisfactory family bonds.
A group you are linked to by marriage is significant in ways you would not choose but that will benefit you.
Middle children, relatives who travel together and a talent link between generations should be taken seriously.
February 4, March 1 and August 15 are dates for a shared diary.
If the opportunity for travel arises, you should seize it[/caption]
REACHING OUT
As Jupiter spends the majority of the year in your values and responsibility zone, you are first to recognise what old friends mean and make gestures or plan events that reinforce it.
Your softer Neptune side stops you walking away from difficult people. Instead, you stay and seek positive solutions together.
A patient Saturn strand helps with this but Pluto has the opposite effect, reversing choices and roles, especially between friends and colleagues of the opposite sex.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Left fitness questions un-answered? Tackle this first.
Uranus adds futuristic ideas to your fitness zone and nothing can stop you becoming your best self.
From April you have a handle on tailor-made exercise programmes and find ways to keep motivated.
All summer you may dip in and out of group activities until you find the right one.
October is great for body confidence. Coconut, beetroot and cucumber are Scorpio superfoods.
FAMILY FIRST
Venus sets a loving family tone, so think the best of everyone and criticise behaviour rather than people.
Call out bad behaviour in constructive ways.
Neptune in your chart leaves you a better listener.
This gives discussions room to breathe and for compromise to grow. Your personal Jupiter glow makes you everyone’s favourite.
Great family dates are any with a “1”, and other positive pointers include portraits, car shares and sport knowledge.
Try getting old and new friends together – you won’t regret it[/caption]
REACHING OUT
The Jupiter version of you is so outgoing you’ll be swamped with friend requests.
When you mix old mates with new names, you’ll love the result.
In January and February, Uranus introduces the right people in the wrong places, so be alert, especially from January 6 to March 5. Join teams in early 2019.
You can go all the way together, especially at the end of March and September and early October.
Workmates may seem mysterious but it’s for a great reason, so beware of creating distance.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
You may waver on which well- being path to take as 2019 begins but, by late February, you’ll be on your way.
The New You involves a change you might consider time-consuming – but you’ll take to it well. Your 2019 chart also urges thinking long-term health-wise.
Good tastes for you are olives, kale and garlic. Grill or steam dishes rather than fry.
FAMILY FIRST
You’re ready for anything as Uranus shakes up the first two months of 2019.
There can be unexpected twists in a family bond, plus a chance to take a shared recipe or craft-based idea to the next level – and it’s profitable.
The one relative you think will do least surprises you. Mars helps you start strong in January and stay that way all year.
You’re a calm centre to any storm, and April 5 and October 13 open doors.
If you have drifted apart from an old friend, this is the year to put old issues behind you[/caption]
REACHING OUT
When it comes to friends and colleagues, Saturn is your coach – helping you to see the bigger picture and stick with plans even when small things go wrong.
But you make sure you are not pushed around.
When you need to speak out to friends, you can – especially between April and October. Venus promotes forgiveness and fresh starts in the summer.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
A tiny bit more activity, every day, transforms your year, so do tackle that stubborn inner voice that insists you don’t have time.
Change your mindset in 2019 and you’ll get stronger, too.
Uranus wakes up your creative zone, so different routines at different times keep you out of a rut.
Release stress by putting worries into words and get moving to Latin beats – key dates include March 31, July 2 and 16 and December 2.
Cabbage, herb teas, figs and rice bring body balance, but avoid eating late at night.
FAMILY FIRST
Mover and shaker Uranus takes charge of everything dear to your home from March 5. There will be an adjustment period, but you won’t look back.
Part of the new you is about assertiveness – saying no and sticking to it.
But so much focuses on breaking free from the past and linking up in ways that test you. A business and music linked to the north play a part.
Make time for you and yours – and be assertive about it[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Jupiter’s in your sociability sector, so invitations flow.
But mark 2019 by being more selective about where you go and who with – as you accept true friendship is based on quality, not quantity.
That cool approach you sometimes take is replaced by mutual caring and respect – the more you give, the more you’ll get back.
This is a real turning point in a landmark friendship year.
Boundaries between work and private life may blur, so set yourself some limits.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
Make a resolution to plan regular healthy meals, no matter how packed your schedule. You’ll breeze through 2019 with less stress and more energy.
Aquarius superfoods include soy products, pears, celery and dates.
If you strengthen your body, focus on your legs and ankles (Aquarius weak spots) with simple exercises.
Mars breathes determination into physical ambitions from May 16, so sign up for a challenge.
FAMILY FIRST
For the first half of the year you’re taking stock.
But family life can take off when you rip up the rules – with input both from wild card planet Uranus and your sensitive ruler, Neptune.
The best time to start is March and April, when empathy is high.
You also have a creative edge that’s unique. If people assume you’ll be needy, they are in for a surprise.
June 3 and October 13 highlight differences in levels of respect that you are ready to correct.
Make health, fitness and eating well a priority this year and you’ll feel amazing[/caption]
REACHING OUT
Saturn and Pluto team up in your social contacts chart – so if a friendship is good you can make it better.
And if it’s not what you need, it can shape up or ship out. Saturn’s reversal, from April 29 to September 18, brings unlikely introductions linked to new languages or music.
Be the first to say sorry or hello in 2019. At work, instead of holding back to let others talk, speak up when you need to.
FEEL GOOD+FOOD
You’re super-sensitive to change, so try stress-reducing techniques. Something that seems complicated can be solved in a couple of simple steps.
Plans to develop better eating habits work best in organised groups, and October or January are the months for this, when Mars favours change.
When you make up your mind, you can achieve anything. Be sure to include more citrus fruit, spinach and oats in your diet.
