Giving fans a taste of what to expect from the animation, Brendan told the Daily Star: “We have scripts where she comes across a meteor, digs it up and suddenly develops super powers.

“Doing it as a cartoon gave us so many more avenues. We can do stories that you just can’t do on the normal show.”

Meanwhile, Blake’s brief appearance as Blister will come at Bono’s birthday party.

Brendan told Metro: “Since he was two, [he’s asked] ‘Grandad, when am I going to be on the show?’ All six of my grandsons wanted to be a part of the show, but particularly Blake. Blake of all of them.”

His dad Danny said: “His older brother plays Bono on the show as well, Mrs Brown’s grandson, he’s his older brother.

“So he always sees his older brother on there, he always sees me on there, his maam plays Betty on the show, so he’s always saying ‘when am I going to get a go?’ So this year, finally grandad gave him his wish and let him have a go.”

Earlier this month Brendan said he refused to stop swearing on the show to get a better slot on telly.

The comedian revealed former Director of BBC Television Danny Cohen begged him to stop saying the f-word and offered him the chance of becoming a prime time star if he complied.

He told The Mirror: “Danny Cohen had taken over as controller. I had been invited in for a ‘f’ meeting. I went in with my producer. I arrived and Danny Cohen, he was mighty big and he was swinging in his chair.

“He spent the first 10 minutes telling me how lucky the BBC felt to have found me and the family, how wonderful Mrs Brown’s Boys was and how he liked that there was also pathos there and hopefully a message at the end – that families fall in and fall out but at the end of the day there’s always something that keeps them together.

“I say: ‘Danny, can we cut to the chase? You want me to stop saying ‘f***’ so you can put the show on at eight o’clock.’

“And he said: ‘Exactly’.”

The usual cast of Mrs Brown’s Boys will also feature in the Christmas special

Mrs Brown’s boys aired at 9pm, and Brendan went on: “He said to me: ‘Look Benny, we want to make you a big star. We really do. The BBC want to make you a big headline star’.

However, Brendan hit back and said: “I don’t want to be a star.”

Despite their doubts about his swearing, the BBC have ordered Christmas specials of the show up until 2020.

Brendan will also be hosting the third series of the chat show All Round to Mrs Brown’s in 2019.
