They shared many steamy scenes together as their characters Noah Solloway and Alison Lockhart embarked on an adulterous relationship in The Affair.
And Dominic West has revealed on Thursday that he and his co-star Ruth Wilson would argue on set of the Showtime hit about who would go 'on top'.
In an interview with the Radio Times, the actor, 49, admitted he and the actress, 36, found they would contest how many times they'd shown their derriere to the camera, as he said: 'We used to fight about it. "You're on top this time", "No! I was on top the last three times!"'
Jokingly: Dominic West revealed in an interview with the Radio Times on Thursday that he and The Affair co-star Ruth Wilson would argue over who went 'on top' in steamy sex scenes
Ruth made a sudden exit from the show earlier this year, and while she denied that her departure was anything to do with her salary, Dominic said: 'I never asked what the money is on a show.
'It was more a question of if I wanted to do it. So it woke me up to the issue. I never realised the disparity and the injustice.'
Viewers were left outraged when Wilson's character Alison Bailey was killed off in the middle of season four of the drama. Many fans saw her as the heart and soul of the show.
In September, Ruth told CBS This Morning host Gayle King: 'I did want to leave but I'm not allowed to talk about why.'
Rumours: Ruth made a sudden exit from the show earlier this year, and while she denied her departure was to do with her salary, Dominic said: 'I never asked what the money is on a show'
She insisted to Gayle that she 'never complained to Showtime about pay parity' and that the salary difference between her and co-star Dominic West had nothing to do with her departure.
In an interview with the Radio Times back in February, Wilson said she believed she was paid less than her co-star Dominic.
'Certainly when I signed up to that project, I would have got paid less,' she said.
'Then [the producers] might argue, 'Well, he's already done a major American TV show [The Wire], so he's already got a level.'
'But even after a Golden Globe, I'm not going to be on parity. So he definitely gets more than me. I mean, I don't know what the figure is, but I'm sure he does.'
Of her comments, and her character's untimely death in the series, Dominic quickly quipped that it was 'not related' to any disparity in pay.
Unhappy: Viewers were left outraged when Wilson's character Alison Bailey was killed off in the middle of season four of the drama
Dominic expressed his admiration of the #MeToo movement, as he said there is now 'a positive discrimination in favour of female directors' in the entertainment industry, while he added that it's also allowed 'unacceptable behaviour' to be called out.
He discussed his own experience, as he added: 'There was one guy in particular whose behaviour was disgusting. Particularly to young females in minor roles. I tried to counter it on several occasions. But now, it wouldn't be so hard to get rid of them.'
Though the actor also admitted that he felt the treatment of women on screen had 'taken a big step back in the past 20 years' as he feel's there's more pressure on young actresses to take their clothes off.
He explained: 'Particularly in television, which has become more pornographic and the burden of that falls squarely on young women. Things like Game of Thrones, where you get a pair of bare breasts every five minutes.
'I mustn't say this, but...I'm fairly sure that 20 years ago young actresses would not have had pressure put on them to take their clothes off.'
He criticised how some parts for female actresses 'involve violent rape' as he worries about his daughter Martha's desire to be an actress, before adding: 'I’m just really glad that #MeToo has started to counteract what has happened in the past 20 years.'

As well as his eldest daughter, 20, who he shares Polly Astor, Dominic also has four children by his marriage with film producer Catherine Fitzgerald: daughter Dora, 11, son Senan, ten, son Francis, nine, and daughter Christabel, five.
Dominic said he plans to take six months off once he finishes filming the final season for The Affair, as he revealed he will travel across the US with his wife and children.
Calling it his 'last chance' to go on an extended trip with his kids before they grow older and won't 'spend that much time with their old man' he admitted that he'll be taking he and his wife will home-school them for the duration of the trip.
He explained: 'I’ve taken them out of school – there are no big exams. We’ll home school them. They’ll read. No screens.
'You’re not going to get a better education than that. If you travel with as little as possible, you get much more interesting experiences.'
