Comedian, and Chelsea supporter, David Baddiel will host the glamorous event with all proceeds going to the museum’s fundraising to develop their Second World War and Holocaust galleries.

The event on January 24 is being staged as part of the London club’s ongoing Say No To Anti-Semitism campaign which is close to the heart of owner Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea have done extensive work in their community attempting to educate people on the horrors of the Holocaust, and to stop discrimination against Jews.

It is why they have been so vocal in the criticism of the minority of supporters who have tarnished the club’s name in recent weeks.

First they issued a stinging rebuke against four fans who were arrested facing allegations of racially abusing Raheem Sterling.

And days later there was fresh controversy when a section of the travelling support in the Europa League tie away to Vidi sang anti-Semitic songs aimed at Tottenham fans.

Chelsea immediately released a statement accusing those responsible for bringing shame on the club and their reaction has been admirable.

They have also sought meetings with Tottenham supporters groups in an attempt to stamp our the scourge of the racist chanting.

This fundraiser had already been a long time in the planning, and will also feature testimonials from Holocaust survivors.
