She is an Oscar-winning actress who is known for her edgy style displays.

And Tilda Swinton looked elegant as she picked up an award at the Sitges Film Festival 2018 in Spain on Thursday.

The Burn After Reading star, 57, slipped her lithe frame into a showstopping scarlet gown with ruffled collar as she posed up a storm at the event.

The showstopping gown featured dramatic ruffled collar and flared sleeves, along with a flowing skirt.

She added extra height to her look with berry stiletto heels.

Her platinum crop was styled in a quirky quiff while her pretty features were enhanced with a rich palette of make-up.

The star picked up the Grand Honorific Award for her role in drama Suspiria.

Suspiria is a feature remake of a 1977 short film of the same name.

It's directed by Luca Guadagnino who helmed last year's best picture Oscar nominated romance Call Me By Your Name. He has worked with Tilda Swinton on three previous films, The Protagonists, I Am Love and A Bigger Splash .

The star, who is known for her signature quirky style, told W Magazine in September 2017: 'What somebody might think of as unusual is what somebody else thinks of as super comfortable and inspiring and interesting and natural, and I've never truly been that aware of fashion as such.

'I'm really interested in style. Most of the things that I love to see other people rocking or rock myself are things that, you know, aren't for sale this year so it's not really about – I'm not that into trends.'   

Tilda also revealed she hard to frighten: 'I'm not easily scared. I'm wary of being bored. I'm not easily bored, but I think – It's funny you talk about risk taking, 'cause I think risk taking is such a subjective thing.'

'You know, one man's risk is another man's comfort zone... I'm too lazy to get easily scared, I think.' 

Tilda has been in a relationship with Sandro Kopp since 2004 and has twins Honor and Xavier Swinton Byrne, aged 20.
