Police are hunting two men caught on CCTV stealing lifesaving equipment from a fire engine in Warwickshire.

Stills from the CCTV footage shows the pair removing a bag from the emergency vehicle while it was parked outside a primary school in Leek Wootton, about two miles north of Warwick. 

The two men, who targeted the fire engine last Tuesday afternoon, are both wearing grey tracksuits.

One of the men has pulled up the hood on his jacket so that his face is obscured as he steals from the vehicle.

The other, a large man with a shaved head wearing an Adidas hoodie, can clearly be seen on the images.   

The fire engine had been parked up at the All Saints Church of England Community Primary School in Leek Wootton when the thieves struck between 2pm and 2.45pm.

PC Ross Kirby, from the Warwick Rural West Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: 'This was a disgraceful theft of equipment that may be required to save lives.

The fire engine had been parked up at the All Saints Church of England Community Primary School in Leek Wootton when the thieves struck 

'We believe these two men may have information about the incident and we're appealing for anyone who recognises them to get in touch.

'We would also like to ask any residents in the area with active dash cams to check the time period between 2.00pm and 2.45pm and let us know if they've captured anything that could be connected to this incident.'

Anyone with information that could help with the enquiries is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident 277 of 2 October 2018.
