FURIOUS Pep Guardiola had to be held back by his No 2 Mikel Arteta as he blew his top at the ref.
Manchester City boss Guardiola, in his first game back after a European touchline ban, was livid that Slovenian ref Damir Skomina failed to award a penalty for a foul on Leroy Sane during Tuesday’s win in Hoffenheim.
Guardiola said: “If I talk I will be in the stands again. I want to be on the bench with my players in the next game.”
Guardiola also had some choice words with the fourth official at the end.
He was given a two-match touchline ban — one of them suspended — for improper conduct after his dismissal in the second leg of City’s Champions League quarter-final loss against Liverpool in April.
He was also furious with the officials when his team crashed out to Monaco in the last 16 in March 2017.
In Germany last night, Guardiola ran towards the halfway line to confront the fourth official and referee after the Sane penalty incident.
That was despite seeing his team fight back from conceding a goal after just 43 seconds to grab a crucial late winner through David Silva.
Guardiola added: “I know what happened against Monaco and then Liverpool.
“I don’t want to talk about the officials.

“We deserve credit because we fought against everything, the result, the pressure — a lot of things.
“As a club, players, a manager, we have to live through these situations to get better.
“This is one of the happiest days I’ve had at this club because it’s going to help us, from the chairman to the last guy.”
City skipper Vincent Kompany added: “We don’t want to complain too much — unfortunately it’s been a trend.
“If that trend reverses in six months, then we will take all these hard moments now.”
