ESTENDERS star Danny Walters has teased that Keanu and Sharon’s affair revelation will mirror ‘Sharongate’ from the 90s.
They are currently embroiled in an affair and last night they inadvertently left a voicemail message for someone whilst they were having sex.
The randy pair celebrated Sharon helping her toyboy get a fake taxi driver’s licence by getting down and dirty in the back of his car while the mechanics were on their lunch break.
However as they got jiggy, Sharon’s phone fell on the floor and started calling someone, with her name flashing up on their screen as it lay on a table in a cafe.
The actions mirror the 90s ‘Sharongate’ when she accidentally recorded herself telling Michelle Fowler she was having an affair with Phil Mitchell behind his brother Grant’s back – who was her husband at the time.
In a case of history coming back to haunt you, Sharon is now married to Phil and is having an affair with Keanu.
Actor Danny who plays badboy Keanu has revealed that the BBC1 soap will use the classic Sharongate cliffhanger as inspiration when it comes to Keanu and Sharon’s affair being revealed.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com about the possibility of the trysts being exposed he said: “All I can say is that there’s a very famous saying that’s applicable to this: history does repeat itself.”
Viewers were last night left with a big unanswered question as to who Sharon inadvertently called on her mobile phone while in the throes of passion with Keanu – and what the mystery recipient will do with their new-found knowledge.
But despite the illicit nature of their relationship, Danny said that Keanu’s feelings for Sharon are entirely genuine: “He’s madly in love with her.

“The way I’ve played Keanu is that this is genuine love. If it’s not, it all becomes about mind games and strategies – and that’s not really Keanu’s style.
“He’s a genuine guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s really fallen for Sharon and the stronger the chemistry between the characters becomes, the harder it will be for them to resist each other.”
