It's been six-years since Clint Eastwood last appeared on screen.
And now fans are getting their first look at the 88-year-old actor's latest project The Mule, courtesy of a new trailer out Thursday.
The veteran actor/director commands attention on-screen while playing unlikely drug smuggler Earl Stone in the based-on-a-true-story tale.

The story is inspired by the real life of Leo Sharp, who was arrested for trafficking drugs in 2011 at the age of 87.
The Mule's trailer begins with Earl surveying the trunk of his car, only to open a green duffel bag filled with bricks of white powder.
'Holy,' he mutters as a police officer approaches from behind.
While he tries to charm the policeman, he can't fool the drug-sniffing dog who barks loudly as it heads towards Earl's car.
The scene pivots to Clint's character cruising along the highway.

'Family is the most important thing,' Earl explained via voiceover, 'Don't do what I did. I put work in front of family.'
Then he appears in a shady warehouse, where he's handed the ominous green duffel.
Reflecting on his failures, Clint's character visits his home, which is marked with a bright yellow foreclosure notice.

Clint's own daughter Alison has taken the role of Earl's daughter Iris.
American Horror Story: Murder House's Taissa Farmiga, Narcos' Michael Peña and Ignacio Serricchio of Bones also appear.
The Mule is set for theaters December 14.
