Adrien Rabiot has turned down a third offer of a contract extension from Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder's deal at the capital city club expires at the end of the current season and that has attracted interest in him from the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona.

That means PSG are desperate to tie him to fresh terms and recently offered him a salary worth €7.2million (£6.32m) a year.

But, according to BeIN, Rabiot has turned down that offer, which was PSG's third attempt to secure his future. 

They have been trying to convince him to stay, using manager Thomas Tuchel in the negotiations, yet have been unable to do so.

There are also apparent differences between Rabiot and the club's sporting director Antero Henrique which continue to cause problems.

City, Chelsea and Barcelona are just three of the many clubs that are keen to secure one of the most highly-rated players in Europe.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have both also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

Rabiot has already represented City during his career — he spent time at the club's academy during 2008 but left due to homesickness.

He featured on Wednesday night as PSG managed to beat Red Star Belgrade 6-1 at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League.
