LAST WEEK it was Conor McGregor being invited to WrestleMania… now the Irishman could be joined by ELTON JOHN.
The legendary musician has amazingly been challenged to a fight at the Showcase of the Immortals by none other than Kevin Owens.
And it all came about after The Rocket Man ruined the former Universal Champion’s date night with his wife.
The Monday Night Raw wrestler and his partner were set to watch the 71-year-old, who has sold over 300m records worldwide, on Tuesday at the Amway Centre in Orlando, Florida.
That was until the show was cancelled at late notice due to Elton suffering from an ear infection – despite Owens and several thousands more already being inside the arena.
The announcement came at 8.25pm after the doors opened at 6pm and the scheduled show start time being 8pm.
Obviously irate, Owens took to Twitter to challenge Elton to a showdown.
He tweeted: “Hey, @eltonofficial, nobody ruins my wife and I’s date night except me! You, me…WresteMania. I’ve fought men in their 70’s before, I can do it again!#KOvsElton #KOMania4.”

Before adding: “The last time I wore red heart-shaped glasses for another man before tonight was on January 12, 1996 at the Montreal Forum. I was 11 years old. It was for Shawn Michaels!

Elton John is no stranger to performing on the big stage, but it remains to be seen whether he will respond to Owens’ challenge to a grapple on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
However, the British music legend does appear to be free with no scheduled tour date pencilled in for WWE’s biggest show of the year.
WrestleMania 35 will take place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, April 7.
