New photo Airman left looking like a ‘freak’ after botched op leaves eyes looking in different directions

A FORMER RAF airman claims he looks like a “freak” after a botched eye op.

Adam Williams, 46, lost his right eye in 2013 in a DIY accident.

But the dad of two says he is unable to move his false one after an adjustment op at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

He says it means his eyes both appear to be looking in different directions, making people feel uneasy around him.

The married dad-of-two, from Kingston Upon Thames, lost his right eye in 2013 when a power tool broke while carrying out DIY.

Doctors were unable to save his sight in the eye despite three operations.

He was given a fake but it meant he lost his driving licence, pilot’s licence.

The shape of his eye socket has changed in the years since, causing pain which required an operation in August.

But he says the procedure at Moorfields Eye Hospital, in London, was a disaster.

Adam, who is now a financial consultant, was told he would have to wait until January until he could get a new fake eye fitted.

He says the doctors sent him home “looking like a cyborg” with a hole in his face and no patch because there were no temporary eyes available.
