THERE’s always one contestant that splits audiences and judges…
Meet Giovanni Spano – he made it through the audition stage after a controversial decision, and is now singing on the live shows.
Who is Giovanni Spano?
Giovanni Spano was born in 1985, in Ruislip, West London.
From a very young age he knew that music and especially rock was his calling.
Speaking before his audition, the 33-year-old said: “My passion for rock music started at the age of 8. My goal in music is to make everyone feel like they’re a superstar.
“Music is music and if something captures you then you’re in.
“It captures the soul and hopefully I get some of these teenyboppers rocking out. Hopefully everybody dances.”
During his audition Giovanni failed to impress Simon and the rest of the panel with his flat rendition of Gimme Some Lovin’ by The Spencer Davis Group.
But Giovanni was granted a second chance by Simon and then sung Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls – earning him three yes votes and getting him through to the next round.
His performances in the Six Chair Challenge and at judges houses has won him a place at the live shows, and he’s been praised for bringing something different to the show.
Who are this year’s X Factor judges?
The judging panel for the fifteenth series of the show has seen a major overhaul.
Simon Cowell remains but all three other judges have been replaced.
That means that Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne are no longer on the panel.
Instead they have been replaced by Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field. Sharon Osbourne will also help out during the live shows.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”
Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
