JEREMY Corbyn’s popularity among Labour Party members has plummeted – with two fifths wanting him to stand down as leader before the next general election.

One in four members want him to step down immediately and 43 per cent have said he is doing a bad job.

Mr Corbyn faces growing issues over his handling of Labour’s Brexit policy and the anti-Semitism crisis which has engulfed the party.

More than half are dissatisfied with the way he has handled Brexit, a new YouGov poll has found.

Seventy per cent say that anti-Semitism is a “genuine” problem.

Sir Keir Starmer – the shadow Brexit secretary – has the most support to succeed him, 68 per cent of members saying that he would make a “good” or “very good” leader.

Labour deputy leader Tom Watson appears to have suffered from his fierce criticism of the leadership with half of party members saying he would make a “poor” replacement.
