After a series of unscripted and highly disruptive catastrophes on the set of Daniel Craig's fifth and final James Bond film, there was more than a touch of irony about the latest dramatic episode as production commenced on Sunday.
Cameras caught the moment a car was flipped onto its roof after being forced off the road at high speed, but unlike the troubled film's lengthy list of dramas, this one - arguably the most dramatic yet - was the scripted culmination of a thrilling chase sequence.
Director Carey Joji Fukunaga and his crew are currently ensconced in rugged Highland countryside surrounding the Scottish town of Aviemore as they film scenes close to Bond's childhood home.

And with the latest scenes focusing on the winding forest roads within Ardverikie Estate, a 19th century Scottish baronial house, the production nailed an impressive car flip following a chase involving a 4x4 and a powerful Range Rover.
With the Range Rover seemingly in pursuit, the silver 4x4 was pushed into a sheer rock face before somersaulting through the air and landing in a twisted heap on the other side of the narrow country road.
While Craig was not present on Sunday, the sequence was witnessed by members of the production team and an assortment of extras, their features ominously covered by ski-masks.

A small production tent appeared to be erected close by, beneath which a crowd had gathered to watch as the high octane scene played out.
With cameras stationed at every angle, a large drone could also be seen capturing the sequence from its vantage point some fifty feet above the action.
Filming locations for the as yet untitled 25th instalment in the Bond franchise include Jamaica, Norway, Italy and England, but relocation to the Scottish Highlands suggests the iconic secret agent will also revisit the childhood home fans previously saw in box-office hit Skyfall.

Bond 25, which has been given the working title Shatterhand, has suffered a turbulent production process in recent months after Craig suffered a nasty ankle while filming a separate chase sequence in Jamaica, the spiritual home of Bond creator Ian Fleming.
The actor underwent an operation followed by two weeks of rehabilitation in May, causing major delays to the long awaited production.
The official Twitter account for Bond 25 released a statement concerning his injuries at the time, writing: 'Daniel Craig will be undergoing minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained during filming in Jamaica
'Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020'.
The British star was said to have flown to New York City for treatment, but was thought to be 'furious' that he injured himself after months of gruelling preparation for the role.
Watch out: The pursuing Range Rover was seen bumping into the silver vehicle's rear fender
There it goes: The high speed collision results in the 4x4 being forced off the road, with dramatic consequences
The aftermath: cast and crew look on from a small production tent as the car lands on its roof
That's wrap: There appeared to be a buzz on set as the scene came to an end in the Scottish Highlands on Sunday
Meanwhile over at the UK's Pinewood Studios three explosions went off on set after a stunt went wrong during filming last month.
Health and Safety officials arrived on the set of the beleaguered movie after an explosion ripped a hole in a sound stage and injured a member of the crew.
The official Twitter account for the 007 franchise confirmed the blasts, with a post saying: 'During the filming of a controlled explosion on the set of Bond 25 today at Pinewood Studios, damage was caused to the exterior of the 007 Stage.
'There were no injuries on set, however one crew member outside the stage has sustained a minor injury.'
Busy: The Aviemore set was filled with people as they cleared up the debris and surveyed the damage

Filming for the movie began in April, four years after previous Bond film, the much maligned Spectre, was released.
Yet it has been claimed the screenplay for the film is being endlessly re-written by a committee consisting of director Cary Joji Fukunaga, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and 007 himself, Daniel.
'She's writing a re-write of a re-write,' a source told the Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye of Waller-Bridge's recent involvement in the project.
farewell: The forthcoming film will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing as Bond following previous appearances in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre
'Daniel's writing. Cary's writing. The crew reckon they're working on a well-polished s**t show.
'They have an outline of plot, but dialogue is all last-minute. It's not the way to make a movie. I would imagine they'll sort it out in the cutting room. That's where most movies get made anyway. But you'd think the Bond lot would be more together.'
It#'s understood that that director Fukunaga also left a meticulously planned shoot in disarray by turning up ‘several hours late’ following an ‘intense’ PlayStation session.

His unexpected absence left the film behind schedule, with the filmmaker prompting further outrage by insisting his production team work over Father’s Day weekend in order to make up for lost time.
A source told The Sun: 'There is real mutiny right now on the set. It’s bad enough that Cary was so late for filming and held everyone up, but then for the crew to be asked to work extra hours to cover it was just the final straw.
'He turned up three hours late which p***ed everyone off. There was a big bust up because they’re so behind. Many said they were not willing to give up their Father’s Day in return for this film. It’s just doomed.'
James Bond 25 is scheduled for release on April 3 2020 in the United Kingdom and April 8 2020 in the United States.
