INTER MILAN have told Mauro Icardi there is no way back as they press on with plans to sell him so they can sign Romelu Lukaku.
The Italian club are desperate to offload the controversial striker to raise funds in order to meet Manchester United’s £75million demands for Lukaku.
Icardi, 26, has been causing major frustration to Inter bosses by so far stalling on moves to either Juventus or Napoli – putting the club’s deal with United at risk.
But Inter president Steven Zhang has claimed nothing the Argentina star does from now on will stop the Serie A side following through and offloading him.
Zhang said: Icardi is a great player, a good person and he helped the club with many goals in the past.
“We’re sure we’ll find a good solution for him.”
He was then asked whether the current lack of attacking options in the squad could lead to Inter having a change of heart in their decision to sell him. Zhang simply replied: “No.”
There have been suggestions in Italy that Icardi is so far rejecting moves away from the San Siro because he is convinced he can stay in Milan.

But Antonio Conte has written off the forward from his plans, believing he cannot work with a player who has caused problems on and off the pitch over the last year.
Conte has told his bosses they have to bring in Lukaku, insisting he can help fire the club to challenge the Juventus dominance in Serie A.
SunSport revealed last week that the former Chelsea boss has become frustrated at the lack of transfer action from his club.
And he admitted before the pre-season friendly defeat to United that Lukaku is his priority and he wants his club to get a move on getting the deal done.

So far they have failed with an initial bid of £54m, with the rest to follow in bonuses, as United hold firm in demanding their valuation is met.
To get that kind of money together, Inter need to sell players and once Icardi is flogged, they will return with an offer they believe will get the transfer done.
But United are growing impatient, warning Inter to come up with the money quickly or the deal will be shelved – as the club face having to bring in a replacement of their own before the transfer window closes on August 8.
