MANCHESTER UNITED star Eric Bailly has been spotted in a wheelchair, wearing a leg brace after sustaining a nasty injury in the pre-season win over Tottenham.
The Ivorian, 25, was taken off on a stretcher in the 2-1 pre-season victory over Spurs, before leaving the stadium on crutches.
Now the latest pictures suggest Bailly could miss quite a while, as United‘s chase of the likes of Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly intensifies.
On the knock, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “It’s never nice when you get an injury.
“He’s done his knee but we’re not sure how bad it is, we need to get back to Manchester and do the scans but let’s hope for the best.”
Bailly‘s stint at Man Utd has been decimated by injury issues, with both knee and ankle problems particularly apparent.
Last term, the Ivorian was restricted to just 12 Premier League appearances in all.
Solskjaer will now only have Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo at his disposal in the heart of defence.
DESPERATE UNITED
That lack of quality has seen fans calling for reinforcements, with United taking their time in their mega-money pursuit of Maguire.
Leicester want £80million for the England man, but Man Utd are being put-off by that extortionate tag.
Brendan Rodgers has told Solskjaer to get on with it or risk missing out, as they won’t be left short.
Another alternative for United is Toby Alderweireld, who has been available for just £25m all summer.
However, his transfer fee clause has now expired and Tottenham can charge what they want for the Belgian – possibly in excess of £40m.
Napoli rock Koulibaly has been on United’s radar for over a year now, but the club’s interest appears to have cooled since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018.

For now it would appear it’s Maguire or bust for United, with Solskjaer keen to keep bringing in home-grown talent.
The Norwegian has already landed Daniel James from Swansea and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both 21, from Crystal Palace.
At 26-years-old, Maguire can still be considered one for the future.
And Leicester may have just whacked an extra £10m on their asking price with United now desperate following Bailly’s injury.
