YOU can now munch on carbs guilt-free as Iceland has brought back its sold-out Slimming World chips that contain just HALF the calories of McCain’s.
The best bit? They’re “syn-free” meaning you can eat as much as you want without having to calorie count, according to Slimming World guidelines.
First launched in January this year, the chips sold out in some stores in a few days, Iceland says.
But they’re now coming back as a permanent addition, with 1kg packs setting you back £2.25 each.
This is good news for fans who’ve asked the supermarket to bring back the chips on Twitter.
One user wrote last month: “I wonder when Iceland are going to bring back Slimming World chips.”
While another said in May: “Are Iceland going to start selling Slimming World Chips again?”
And a third user said: “Just to say Slimming World chunky chips from Iceland are amazing.”
The chips will be available in Iceland stores as well as on its website from tomorrow – July 31.
Once you’ve got them home, all you’ve got to do is whack them in the oven for 20 minutes.
The low-fat alternative to our favourite carbs contains 104kcals per 100g and just 0.3g of fat.
McCain’s home chips, on the other hand, contain 208kcals and 7.2g of fat per 100g.
Of course, you could get away cheaper by making your own chips or wedges at home.
All you have to do is slice some potatoes, sprinkle with salt and pepper, spray some low-fat oil on them and then bung in the oven.
The extra calories are all in the frying, so oven-bake and just be aware of how much oil you use.
