"Many Photos" - Hillary Clinton visits daughter Chelsea and newborn grandson in the hospital

Hillary Clinton visited her daughter Chelsea and her newborn grandson Jasper in the hospital on Tuesday.

The former Secretary of State, 71, was photographed walking into Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where her daughter Chelsea, 39, gave birth on Monday morning.

Hillary beamed as she was seen exiting an SUV shortly after lunchtime and walking into the medical facility to make her second visit to her daughter and grandson in as many days, having only left the hospital late on Monday evening.

Grandpa sneakers? A few hours after Hillary arrived at the hospital, her husband Bill was seen arriving in a pair of red and gray sports shoes with very chunky soles

And Hillary is not the only grandparent who couldn't bear to stay away from the new mother-of-three and her precious newborn; just hours later, former President Bill Clinton, 72, arrived at the hospital in a blacked-out SUV, wearing a pair of chunky-soled sneakers and a gray suit jacket. 

Just like his wife, Bill couldn't seem to wipe the smile off his face as he made his way into the building to see his family, pausing for a few minutes to sign autographs and wave at the waiting photographers. 

Chelsea shared the happy news of the family's newest addition on Twitter on Monday morning.

This morning we welcomed our son, Jasper Clinton Mezvinsky. We are overflowing with love and gratitude and can't wait to introduce him to his big sister and brother,' the mother-of-three wrote at 10:34am EST.

Her mother also took to social media to share her delight, writing: 'Sharing some happy news this morning! Bill and I are so thrilled.' 

Chill: She was dressed in black pants and a blue and white patterned jacket, which she accessorized with a pair of earrings and gray slip-on sneakers

Happy as can be: Both grandparents had big smiles on their faces as they arrived at the hospital, no doubt thrilled to be visiting their daughter and grandson once again 

Bling: She accessorized with earrings, some bangles, and a ring on her left hand

Owning this: She walked confidently into the hospital by herself, shaking a woman's hand before going through the doors

Sporty! She donned a pair of gray slip-on rubber-soled shoes for the outing

Smile like you mean it! Bill waved happily to the waiting photographers as he arrived at the hospital, looking every inch the proud grandfather

Anything for the fans: The former president paused briefly outside in order to sign an autograph for somone 

Bill also retweeted Chelsea, writing: 'Hillary and I are overjoyed and grateful to meet our new grandson, Jasper!' 

The proud grandparents made a same-day visit to the hospital on Monday, and then returned again just hours later to spend more time with their baby grandson, with both choosing very casual ensembles for the occasion.

The former first lady was photographed exiting a black SUV, wearing a huge smile on her face as she made the short walk inside. 

She was dressed in black pants and a blue and white patterned jacket, which she accessorized with a pair of earrings and gray slip-on sneakers.

Hillary walked confidently into the hospital by herself, shaking a woman's hand before going through the doors. 

A few hours later, Bill arrived on the scene in a near-identical vehicle - and a very similar ensemble - wearing a pair of dark trousers and a matching shirt, which he wore with a pale gray suit jacket.

He then completed the low-key look with a pair of chunky dad-style sneakers that had very chunky, supportive soles, as well as several red flashes along the otherwise-gray design. 

A smiling Bill also held his iPhone in his hand as he strolled into Lenox Hill Hospital, and wore a pair of rimless glasses. 

The pair were also full of smiles when they arrived at the hospital shortly after Jasper's birth, this time making the trip to see their daughter together. 

The former president and former Secretary of State grinned with excitement as arrived, smiling to photographers and passerby as they made their way. They were still smiling when they left later in the evening, waving at admirers.

'Everybody's good,' they told photographers outside.

This is the third child for Chelsea and her husband, who share four-year-old daughter Charlotte and three-year-old son Aidan. 

The family has yet to publish photos of their newest member, though it's unlikely there will be many snaps. Chelsea and Marc are quite private about their family, and Chelsea — who doesn't have a public Instagram account — has shared precious few images of Charlotte and Aidan.

The author and activist, who lived in the White House as a teenager, married Marc Mezvinsky in 2010. The couple had first met in 1993 at a Democratic political retreat, when Chelsea's father Bill was in office as President.

Pennsylvania-native Marc is an investor and former vice chairman at the venture capital firm Social Capital. His parents, Edward Mezvinsky and Marjorie Margolies,  were both Democratic members of the U.S House of Representatives.

Since the New York-based couple welcomed their two children, Marc is a stay-at-home dad.
