CORONATION Street fans are fearing for Sharon after Gary Windass confessed to murdering Rick Neelan to her.
The evil builder – who is played by actor Mikey North in the ITV soap – murdered Rick earlier this year but tonight his assistant Sharon caught him planting evidence in Rick’s house, and fans are certain she will be next on Gary’s list.
As Sharon walked into Rick’s house to collect clothes for the loan shark’s young daughter Kelly, she found Gary smearing paint on one of his coats, and realised that he was up to no good.
She told him she would call the police but before she could even get her phone out, Gary had confessed to murdering Rick in a shock scene that left fans stunned.
He told her: “You can’t because then they’re going to find out… that I killed him.”
Sharon was surprisingly calm being told her colleague had murdered their boss, telling him: “I can’t believe it, you killed Rick. I always thought it would be the other way around.”
Gary went on to explain the circumstances of how he killed Rick but for the first time admitted he meant to murder him and chose to not take the chance to walk away.
He said of the moment he chose to murder Rick: “I think about Sarah and the kids and it’s like a hit of adrenaline and I get it, I slam the rock down and he drops the shovel, he’s stunned.
“That’s my chance to run but I don’t, I smash that rock down again and again and again and again. Until suddenly there’s nothing, he’s just slumped on me as a dead weight.
“I had to stop him Sharon, I had to know he couldn’t come after us again. I had no choice, I had to think of my family.”
But as Sharon insisted Kelly deserved to know the truth and not have her life ruined by thinking her dad had abandoned her, Gary gave her a proposition to keep Rick alive for Kelly.
He said: “Sharon she doesn’t ever have to know her dad is dead. I will see she is alright for money, I’ll pay for her school fees everything. But if I get banged up that’s not going to happen, is it? That’s her whole life ruined.”
But as Sharon wavered about what to do, Gary became desperate and offered her £15,000 to keep quiet about what he had told her.
And after being shunned by the rest of the cobbles for his part in Rana’s death, Gary showed his nasty side to a borrower and viciously threatened him when he didn’t pay the full amount owing.

And fans are fearing he’s going to get even nastier and decide to kill Sharon so she can never expose his secret.
