ROMELU LUKAKU is expected to be given the opportunity to lead the line for Manchester United against Fulham ahead of this month’s season-defining trio of matches.
The Belgium striker was savaged for his “awful attitude” against Leicester but the Red Devils’ visit to Craven Cottage should give him another chance to regain his confidence.
In ten games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United have won nine and drawn just one – and are “top of the league” based on matches since his hiring.
After the Fulham clash they face three tough games in a row which could make or break Solskjaer’s claim for the permanent job.
United host Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League last-16 clash before an FA Cup fifth-round trip to Chelsea and a massive Premier League match against Liverpool.
The Norwegian caretaker has already claimed to have plotted out his line-ups for the entire month of February, something he learned from Sir Alex Ferguson.
Marcus Rashford, who became the second-youngest United player to reach 100 Premier League appearances in the Red Devils’ last game, is set to be given a rest.
Lukaku, who has scored just twice in six Prem outings under Solskjaer, will most likely replace him up top.
Victor Lindelof, who has finally shown signs of promise in the heart of defence, is set to be partnered by Phil Jones with Diogo Dalot coming in at right-back.
One player who is also in contention to feature against his former club is Chris Smalling, who is yet to play under Solskjaer after injuring his foot in December.
Anthony Martial only appeared as a substitute against Leicester and is likely to start while Jesse Lingard will be kept fresh for the high-stakes clash against PSG.
Alexis Sanchez, who is yet to make successive starts for the Red Devils under the interim boss, could make an impact against Fulham.
The 30-year-old, who netted in only his second start for United under Solskjaer in the FA Cup win against Arsenal, is also an option to partner Lukaku up-front.
Solskjaer will be reluctant to rotate either Nemanja Matic or Ander Herrera, although Juan Mata provides an alternative in midfield.

Herrera’s link-up with Pogba and Matic in the middle has been pivotal to the club’s recent revival and his form has seen him in advanced talks over a contract extension.
United have an almost fully-fit squad so there is also an outside chance Solskjaer uses almost the same XI that won against Leicester in order to keep momentum.
One man who will miss out is Marcos Rojo, who is only rejoining first-team training this week after being ruled out since December with a mystery injury.
Rojo, 28, picked up the problem during the Champions League clash at Valencia and has only just been given the go-ahead to resume ball work.
