LITTLE Mix and One Direction have ‘snubbed The X Factor All Stars series’ after Simon Cowell ditched the regular version of talent show for 2019.
The music mogul dropped the bombshell that the traditional X Factor format had been scrapped for a year, and replaced by celebrity and All Star versions.
The latter will see former contestants return to compete on the ITV singing show, but two of its biggest success stories will reportedly not be part of it.
The Daily Star Sunday claims girl band Little Mix, who won in 2011, and One Direction, who finished in third place during the 2010 series, have snubbed the chance to return.
A show insider told the publication: “Shortly after news broke that an all-stars series is in the pipeline, Little Mix were saying they won’t be able to take part.
“They’re proud of their history with the show. But the reality is they’re just too busy to go back.
“It’s a shame because viewers would love to see them on the show.”
Meanwhile the 1D boys; Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, will also miss out on the chance to reunite, following their decision to go on an indefinite hiatus in January 2016, a year after Zayn Malik quit the band.
The source continued: “Producers would also love to reunite One Direction, but that’s also looking highly unlikely.
“The lads have been saying it just won’t be possible.

“There are concerns most of X Factor’s successful acts won’t be able to take part, meaning the producers will have to make do with less popular acts.”
The news comes as Fleur East, who was a finalist in the 2014 series, also snubbed the All Stars version.
She said on This Morning on Friday: “I don’t think I personally would because I did it the first time in 2005 as a group and then in 2014 and it went so well, it was so amazing I think the third time I’m pushing it.”
But she did admit that her X Factor Whatsapp group from 2014 has been blowing up with messages about the special edition of the show – and Stevi Ritchie is keen to take part.
She added: “Stevi Ritchie has announced that he would very happily go on to the All Stars.”
Meanwhile Saara Aalto – runner up in 2016 – also publicly ruled herself out of appearing on the new version of The X Factor.
