Speaking of her shoulder and chin injury ahead of her performance, she said: 'I thought I was done but I'm not going to let this kick me down.'

Despite having to adjust the choreography to cater to her injured shoulder, the star stunned the judges as she performed a triple pivot into a spin, a shoulder lift  and a standing arabesque.

Gaining 31 points out of 40 (1.5 points less than last week), judge Jane Torvill told her: 'It was beautifully skated Melody, stunning. I'm so pleased you recovered from your injury. '

Next up to perform was Brian McFadden, who donned a gingerman costume to dance to I Want Candy with his partner Alex Murphy.

The Westlife singer got his highest score of the series so far, gaining 25.5 points from the judges.

Speaking about his nerves, Brian joked to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after his routine: 'I should have done it sober it would have been easy.'

While Jason Gardiner said he was 'frantic and a mess', Ashley Banjo told him: 'The risk has paid off. It was fun, packed full of content it was a shame it was a bit scrappy at times.'

Just hours before the live show, Jane Danson was stretchered off the ice, after dramatically fainting during rehearsals.

The Coronation Street star, 40, was attended to by paramedics after collapsing during her routine with professional partner Sylvain Longchambon, 38.

On Saturday, Jane's co-star Gemma Collins confessed she had been sobbing over taking another huge tumble on the ice after receiving treatment for her injured knee ahead of Sunday's show.

The reality star complained she was in 'absolute agony' as she bemoaned she had been crying via her Instagram stories on Saturday evening.

Gemma, 38, informed her 1.2million followers about her fall earlier on in the day as she prepared to take to the ice rink again.

She lamented: ‘The night before dancing on ice I’ve had another fall today. I’m in absolute agony. I’ve been crying like I don’t know what.’

However, Gemma didn't let her injuries dampen her mood as she joined forces with her Dancing on Ice co-star Brian McFadden.

She elaborated: ‘But I’m with the lovely Danielle. Brian McFadden’s gorgeous girlfriend. He’s going to marry this one. He’s going to, he’s going to stay with this one forever I can tell. This is the one for him.’
