A DAD was shot dead last night as he picked up his daughter from dance school, yards from a Liverpool community centre packed with kids.
The youngster has been left traumatised by the shocking attack around 8pm, as her dad waited in his car.
Cops have appealed for help in their probe after a black car was seen close to the shooting site, with a similar vehicle found burnt out nearby minutes later.
The Liverpool Echo was told by a source the dad, named locally as James Taylor, the Mirror reports, was shot at close range with a handgun.
His daughter had been at a class at the Marybone Youth and Community Centre, which holds dance sessions for kids aged 5-16.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Warlow said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw a black Ford Fiesta car in the around Holy Cross Close at 8pm last night or who saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us as a matter of urgency.
“I want to reassure the public that and that we will thoroughly investigate any information given to us so we can put anyone who carries guns on our streets behind bars and would appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident itself, or who has any information about it, to please get in contact.”

Another, unrelated, shooting in the city last night left a man with a serious leg injury.

The 35-year-old was with his daughter, 7, when he was shot – she was left extremely shaken.
Detective Inspector Paul Gillies said: “This is an extremely shocking incident and I’m sure the community would agree that the anyone who is willing to use a gun this way in the presence of a child, needs to be taken off our streets and brought to justice.
“It is only through sheer luck that this child wasn’t injured and I’m sure my outrage and shock is shared by all.
